The rattles in my doors aren't terrible by most definitions - but they are aggravating the heck out of me, plus they're somewhat embarrassing to have someone else in my car and for them to question what all that noise is...[I]I am curious to know whether this is a problem that Mini is working to fix - Anyone know?[/I I know that there are "Non Mini" fixes to this problem and am asking anyone who has "fixed" their own Mini what they would suggest. Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

dwarner,
Aloha and welcome to NAM,
This problem has been discussed before. You can try to take your complaint to MINI service and see what they can do. In the past they might be able to add a tape to pad the door panel seam which may or may not help.
Other owners have found that sound deadening material applied to the inside panels of both doors helps to cut down on resonant vibration and buzzing from the speakers. Cuts some outside noise as well.

If you live close enough, definitely take it to a dealer. They will add a little fluff, and maybe something along the seams (more than likely where the sounds are coming from). If you want it to be good, though, you're looking at an afternoon with Dynamat. Do a search to find out more. I have used it myself, and it definitely works. You might be able to get away with some 3M foam tape type of products. PM me if you need any specific info.

Good luck!

It is simple, and it works.
