Speed sensitive Radio volume?

I read somewhere that the standard radio in the R55/56 had a Speed sensitive volume setting. Now that I have my R-55 I can not find manual reference or programable setting for same. Does the standard R 55/56 radio actually have this feature? If so how to I activate / adjust the volume profile. Thanks ajm

Not in your Owner's Manual, but in the seperate 'seven-fold' card titled "OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS RADIO BOOST CD" open the fold labled "SETTINGS" and you will see it at the top.

Remember that these settings are retained in Key/Fobs, so with Convenient Access, Key/Fob must be in slot and settings must be programed for Each Key/Fob.

Also, settings must be set for each Audio (Tuner, CD & Aux) Input.

Thanks for the info. The Radio Boost CD fold out that came with my MY09 R-55 has an 'Overview' page and not a settings page. The Overfiew page only points out the button with no further detail. The other foldout pages do not describe any functions using the 'Setting' button. I will poke around using the button with the musical note and see what I can find.

"Press briefly" the "call up setting" (with 'note' symbol), then menu button "S-VOL" then turn the ****, Press Briefly and finally the far right (arrow back) menu button.

Same basic steps for Volume, Aux Volume and tone or chime settings.

The speed volume setting is only one adjustment and can not be adjusted separately for each input. But it can be programed for each key with the comfort access system.

That was my experience with my 2009 r55. Now the question is - What is 'Gong' ? I set mine to +2 in hopes of hearing a clue - but nothing yet

Don't buckle your seatbelt, then start car - you'll hear the gong. Numbers refer to volume of the nefarious thing

Unfortunately there is no way to turn it off. On non Conv Package cars it changes the volume on conv package cars it changes the tone as well.

I guess this feature was something not available for those with the nav system.

There is no way to change the gong volume or sound on my August build 07 that I have found.

Mine is a April 08 build, No Nav, and the gong volume and pitch change as you turn the control.

If it is supposed to be that way or not i am not sure but another 08 with conv package i was in did the same thing. the loaner i had one day with out the conv package only change volume of a horrible sounding ding not even really a gong sound.

I've read that same thing on 07s also, but none with the Nav system. Mine doesn't change when you adjust the volume while the gong is playing. it does adjust other things like the phone ringing volume and the nav voice volume, but not the dinging.
