New Clubman S Bluetooth worked for 2 days only.
I just picked up my CLubman S, and the salesman paired my phone to the bluetooth, Worked fine for 2 days, and after a call, could no longer get a signal to work. (The radio no longer had the icon for the phone). Tried to re-pair it many times, but no luck. Took my phone and paired it easily with my Nuvi GPS bluetooth. Any suggestions, or is it just broken and I need to take it to the dealer?
That is very similar to what happened to me about five days after I got my Clubman S. Very, Very hot day and the car sat in the sun all day. After work, I was driving down the road and the bluetooth goes out. No icon for the phone, like you said. I pulled over, turned the car off, restarted. Nothing.
I was headed in the direction of my dealer, so I stopped by. My MA saw the problem. He tried to re-pair (??) the phone. Nothing. I said I would call the Service Department the following morning.
I got home. Let the car sit in the shade. Went back out later that night with my phone and all was fine. Did not have to re-pair the phone. The Bluetooth just came back on. It has worked flawlessly since then. Kind of weird, huh?

mrdunn, both I and my MA suspected it was a heat related issue, so I have been watching it. So far, its functioned fine, but I made him note that he had seen the BT system completely shut down at 5 days old.
Although I know that a lot of the LG phones have problems with the MINI BT system, I don't think the two problems are related. I suspect the I (we) may have either a bad BT module that is affected by heat, or a connection that is affected by heat.
I played it safe and went with the Verizon RAZR2 v7m. I chose this phone for the following reasons:
1. Fairly new phone (released last fall)
2. On the MINI Approved List
3. Synced w/o a problem including my phone book.
4. Availability of the MINI (actually BMW) phone cradle that fits in the armrest. I got lucky and bought it through Classic MINI for a sale price of $79.00. Pops right in the armrest (if equipped)
5. Really liked the look and feel of the phone. Clam style, no accidentally dialed #s. Good tactile feel, right width for my hand but really thin in my pocket. Big screen inside and on cover. Looks great. Have gotten several compliments on the way it looks.
6. Price was right. Had a $100 credit (new every two). Cost was $49.00.

I'd assume the later gens of Verizon Razr's are pretty solid too.

My very basic LG VX5300 works perfectly - thankfully.
Sometimes I have experienced occasions in which the phone doesn't seem to get a signal...because I'll use the voice dialing and then it will suddenly say that "...is off" and twice I've had it not want to disconnect a call...but I chalk that up to location, thus far... Cell phones are never 100% perfect everywhere.
Hope your issue is simple and solved quickly!
