Pioneer AVIC-N3 GPS issues

Anyone have issues with the gps on this head unit..? Two years old and Pioneer now wants me to send in all the electronics and a check for $200 to fix the unit. A 2 grand unit and it fails under less than normal use.
My gps shows my car spinning in circles all the time - what a crappy customer service from Pioneer.

Is there a way to do a master reset on it? What's the warranty for those?

I imagine there is a master reset on the unit. Not sure what that will do to my 'crack' to use the gps/video when moving??
I wrote a nasty gram to Pioneer and they want me to call them direct now.. The saga continues.

Well considering it's out of warranty, maybe they will agree to repair it this once for free but I wouldn't hold me breath. I found quite a few google hits complaining about that model though.

The crack for making the unit work when moving is just mounting the ground directly to metal instead of wiring to the ebrake indicator. there is a little switch that is grounded out when you pull the ebrake handle and that is what that little green ground wire is supposed to mount to but obviously whomever did your deck just hardmounted it. long story short, you send in the whole unit to pioneer without the wireharness, so it wont affect your 'crack'.

i am actually a pioneer dealer, and i called my rep with your issue. He told me to have you

menu -> settings -> hardware info -> reset everything in there (speed pulse, 3d calibration, etc) -> drive 2 miles to re-calibrate and LMK if that works.

if not, shoot me a PM and ill get on the phone with him again and try and save ya 200 bucks!

cmr076 - thanks for the tip. Nav seems to be working fine now.
And for celebration I will now put $200 in mods in SLVR BLLT instead of paying Pioneer corporate....
Cheers.
