iPhone/Bluetooth gurgling
I just picked up my MCS and paired my iphone with the bluetooth. Everything seems to have paired fine, but when I talk with someone, I have to crank the volume up high (so high that when I get an incoming call - it scares the bejeezes out of me because of the volume) and their voice cuts in and out so quickly and that it sounds like they're gurgling.
Any fixes for this??

Yup, that took care of it. I didn't even have to re-pair the phone - just turned off the WiFi. THANKS!!!

Both Bluetooth and WiFi operate in the 2.4Ghz band (along with microwaves, cordless home phones, wireless USB, and zig-bee devices). Bluetooth uses 79 channels and the frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology in that band while WiFi uses 13 channels and the direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS). Bluetooth relies on its frequency-hopping algorithm to avoid the majority of interference from WiFi, but a single active WiFi network (in this case the one being run by the iPhone or BB) can cause heavy interference on alot of the Bluetooth channels. This is what causes the dropouts that you are hearing on the calls.
Confusing, maybe, but this is the simple version. I hope it helps.
I had the same issue with the volume. When I turned up the volume to hear a caller, the next time the phone rang it would be *way* loud. A trick I learned was to just turn down the volume at the end of the call, before you push the "end" button. That way when someone calls you, you will not have to change your underwear at the next rest stop.
