I have a 08 Mini Cooper S that I purchased up in Canada with the Media connect option. Unfortunately they did not include the cable and want me to pay $125 for it. I asked for the part number so I could look elsewhere, but they would not provide it.

I found a place in New Jersey that sells the cable for $50 but they do not think it is the same part.

What do you all think? Will this cable work? Not too keen on spending $50 for a cable and then having to buy another one.

There's another thread where people are looking at a Kenwood cable available through Crutchfield for around $20 or $30 -- I'd hunt for that, as it looked like just about the same thing (except longer, and without the BMW part number) -- Kenwood KCA-iP200. At least one person has a cable on order, expected any day now. I'd track down that thread and see what happens -- if it works, I think they're going to seel a few of those cables!
