Navigation & Audio Bluetooth compatibility list
It even looks like on the PDFs they've added disclaimers:
The Sony Ericsson W350a's been added there since I checked last, so there's at least some changes.
BMW make no guarantees or warranties as to the performance of each phone while connected to your BMW via Bluetooth Wireless Technology. Furthermore, software releases by BMW, the phone supplier or the wireless carrier dated after testing might alter compatibility results.
ThommyG, have you done the WM6.1 upgrade? It's pretty unusual to have a WM6 phone with problems.
Thanks for the updates- both new phones to me.

God bless you Nicknbecka! I have my Mini for a year and thought all was lost for my connectivity. I recently got the i760 and still wasn't able to get connected. Thanks to your suggestion everything is working with no hiccups what-so-ever. This is a cool sign. I can't wait to explore. Thanks again!!

If you're already set on Verizon, they have a decent phone exchange policy. Some people have convinced the store to let them try a phone with their car first, but the policy seems to be buy-first-exchange later.
Just went down to the Verizon store and said " So here's the story. That new MINI out there isn't sinqing with many phones and l just want it to work so we have two ways to do this. One way is l can buy the phone, go outside and if it doesn't work l'll bring it back, you'll refund my money and we'll try again! Or you can give me a phone to go out and try and l'll buy the one that works. " So they get the manager that finished top of his class in 8th grade to help. l told him that l wanted something that would work as l entered the car it would reconize the phone instantly and go to bluetooth and copy over the phone book. "Well" he says "You can't transfer any phonebook on any phone to any car". Agh! Alrighty then! So Verizon only has three, 3, phones on the MINI list and they don't make two anymore
So l figure that 3/4 of the phones for all carriers are Motorola l'd give the new Krave ZN4 a shot. It paired up just fine and worked just like a charm. We left a phone to have a software update and came back in a couple of hours. In the mine time it copied over the whole phonebook
So when l drove up the manager came out to bring me my phone and l had the address book on the screen and all he could say was, "Hum! l didn't know that they did that, hum!"
So the short of it is; The Mototrola Krave ZN4 from Verizon checks out and works just great.

HTC G1, aka Android phone, troubles
I have one of the new so-called Google phones from T-Mobile, the HTC G1, and have had difficulties in using my MINI's Bluetooth with it. It apparently paired successfully, but has only synched the address book successfully two out of three tries. I did manage to use the Dial function on the MINI to call a number, but the audio was not switched onto the car's audio system, nor did the End call function work.
I understand there's already an operating system update being sent out on day 2 of public availability for the phone, so maybe things will improve. In the meantime, at least for me, the phone's Bluetooth capabilities are flakey at best.
Bottom line: not compatible.

I just received by 09 JCW today and finished setting up the bluetooth. Using a Verizon VX6800 I WAS able to transfer my contact list to the car. I enabled OBEX (disabled by default in the VX6800) and contacts tranfered in just a minute or two. Total contacts 112.
Blackberry 8830
Wow, what a great thread! If only I had the time to go through the entire thread. Thank you to the person that informed me that the Blackberry 8830 works, pairs and syncs!!! So appreciate this. I just bought the car and my Treo does not work at all. The Blackberry 8830 sounds like a solution from heaven.
My only question is does it also integrate the phone book?
I'm a newbie - so please be gentle.
peace.

Kay, Welcome aboard. Sounds like it may be a little late, but if you're still trying to pair the Treo, look at post #362 on p. 15 of this thread. There is a software update that seems to have worked for most of the Treos--mine included!
Cybergypsy reported that their's worked too, good to see a trend
Thank you tedswoods!!! Not too late - I can still return the Blackberry-
Going to check out thread #362. thanks again. So appreciate it.

Thank you! I went to the spread sheet and read in the notes column for Treo 700 (that's what I have) that there was a software update for the phone. Who would have known?
I completed the update and it working!!!!!!

Thank you all for your knowledge and support.
peace.

Spreadsheet needs updating. Samsung Blast still shows "No".
Thanks for keeping up with this stuff. It's been a great service.
Does anyone have any idea if the new Verizon touch Blackberry Storm (9530) will work with my 2008 Clubbie. I'm currently using the RAZR2 9vm, which works great, but have the opportunity to upgrade to the Crackberry. I'm optimistic since Blackberry seems to have a good record with the MINI. (The phone isn't available until at least November 15th.
Thanks,
Rich
Thanks,

It's not on the official supported list, so we won't know until it's available and someone's reported back. But, as you said, it's a Blackberry, so chances are very good it will work flawlessly.
Just a heads-up for Verizon users with the VX9100 (the enV2) and the VX10000 (the Voyager)
Both phones have had recent firmware updates, to VX910V04 on the enV2 and to VX10KV11 on the Voyager.
As a reminder- firmware updates on both have broken MINI compatibility in the past, so if it's working for you now with V03, hold out until others can confirm if the updates work!

Sorry, I was off by one column... Fixing it now!
