HELP, Please Help! (iPod)

Okay so I have a 2004 MCS With H/k. I've bought the Dension ice link plus (for the Bmw obviously :P) went to have it installed and apparently its not the right part. The adapter thats suppose to fit into the head unit dosent. I then went to a different location and bought a different ipod adaptor, IPac. Went to have it installed and apparently it will also not work...

Im having no luck with this. I just dont know how to get an Ipod adapter into a mini with the H/K sound system.

Like the subject says. "HELP!"

Also there are sometimes different connections. Some are for the head units while others are for the CD changer connection in the boot.

I blew all those gizmos off and went with an aux input...

and it will work, even with a nav system (Mini claims it doesn't, but it will, you just have to move the pins over onto the connector that the nav input uses. They go to different inputs on the back of the head unit.) Get in touch with one of the aftermarket companies (EAS, or AES, and the guys in England both can help).

Sorry I can't help further, but one of those two companies can. You can find them via the vendor directory.

yea, I have a feeling that my head unit dosent event support a cd changer, both harnesses were suppose to plug into the cd changer port. I havent taken the time to actually look Myself. I scared to take the mini apart But if thats what I have to do then Ill do it. But I really wish I KNEW exactly what the harness should look like... so I could buy it online.

I'm pretty sure that it does support one, every Mini except 02 is able to support nav, cd changer and anything else that plugs into that specific spot behind the head unit. Look up Ipod install.

It will, but we need to know what version of Ice LInk that you have. There are two versions, a headunit version (large connector) and a smaller connector that connects in the boot to the CD changer harness. It will work on the 04 but it will be hit and miss on the text being displayed.

Likely you were supplied the R17 kit, which is incorrect and only for MY02 MINIs and most 3-series BMWs. Either exchange the kit for the correct one through your retailer or we can supply the correct harness you need.
