Questions about Kuda mounts
I'm having a plug & play Sirius receiver added to my 2007 MC and I was thinking about Kuda mounts. I was looking here and came up with some questions. In the installation pdf for the first one listed on the page, the picture of the interior looks slightly different than my car. I just want to be sure that installing it there won't interfere with the opening of the glove box. In the installation pdf for the second one on the page, it says to remove the panel above the glove box. Since mine opens, will it be necessary to remove it or will opening it be sufficient? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I just want to be sure of what I'm getting myself into.
pjo1966, if they say that it fits then I am sure it will. I have installed the second one and it is perfect! The panel that you remove on the right side near the glovebox is a trim piece that goes around the vent to the right of the speedometer.
Do you consider that to be a convenient place to put it? It looks like the first one would be better placement, but the install looks much more involved.
Well the upper left of the speedometer is IMHO the perfect place for a Garmin Nuvi which is what I mounted there. It was also far easier than I thought that it would be from the various pictures I have seen in other threads here. I am guessing that if I did not have a NAV system like the Garmin, and that if I was to want to install another receiver like the Sirius one, I would probably prefer the lower right mount for that.
My thinking is that the NAV system is something you want to be able to easily glance at while you are driving. A Sirius receiver you would probably just change occasionally and leave alone. You would not need to be looking at it all of the time while driving. That's just my 2 cents.

I have both of the two mounts Kuda offers for the MC in my car - the upper left one is for a Nuvi 660 & the lower right one is for a RoadyXT XM sat radio, both of which are hardwired into the car. Re the lower right location, I agree that it is best suited for a radio, iPod, etc. but not for a nav unit due to the visibility of it. It does not get in the way of the glove box at all but you do need to be careful to mount it so that it doesn't block being able to load/eject CD's in the slot right next to it.
For the 1st mount (th glove box one), how do you remove the trim piece? Do you just pull it out? or are there screws holding it in place. I can't seem to find any useful step by step instruction like the gps one by the driver side. Thanks in advance.

I just returned the one by the glove box. I liked it but it interferred with the ability to adjust the Heat/Ac control. Maybe I received a bad unit, but I could barely move the control. I'm going with the ProClip.
The installers ran into the same problem with mine. They just bent back the tab that was supposed to go under the climate control and it was fine. The one screw didn't line up exactly with the existing hole behind the panel, so they had to drill a small hole. It's behind the panel so you won't be able to see it even after the Kuda is removed. I do like having the radio in that location. I'll have to get some pictures taken. I'm not thrilled with the placement of the antenna, though. They placed it immediately above the windshield, so that it sits on an angle, rather than sitting flush three inches back. So far the reception had been fine.
