What the heck is this thing?

My hk amp is toasted and upon gutting the rear half of my car I found this...anyone have any idea what it is? also a side note if anyone has a h/k for sale im in the market so it seems

Good to know... I stumbled across that thing today putting in new rear speakers. I was like WTF. but then there was a lot of that when it came to the "simple" task of changing speakers.

Can I hook up amother antenna to that? because some *** snapped mine off and the dealership couldnt get the threaded part out. Also, if anyone else has had that problem, whatd you do?

So its for the raido im assuming, Ive seen other minis with out it. keep in mind I dont have the nav nor the sat raido systems...

the DPSM amp goes there but I'm putting an aftermarket amp in that won't fit under the seats. I'd love to tuck it in the side panel.

the space there (aprox not sure what you would lose this the plastic installed) is APROX top part there the airbag pressure cyl is 10" bottom part being about 1' the hight before you hit the rear seat belt is 8.5" and the depth is about 2" let me know if you need more info.

BMW's have the same thing. Its the Antenna Amplifier along with the selector. The rear window heater is also an antenna. That litle box gets the signal from both and decides which is better, of course thats saying your not using the rear window defroster.

And the year determines where it is.
