iPod or MP3 CD player?

Any of you guys prefer one over the other?
I got my first 30GB ipod photo stolen in my schools parking lot. Along with a broken window. And my ipod nano I gave to my sister, now I'm just using burnt CD's and what not.. but am considering buying a new ipod, or perhaps and MP3 cd player. What do you guys think?

Depending on what year it is, your MINI's OEM head unit might already play MP3 CDs; Otherwise, I'd say go for the iPod- but stop leaving it in your car.

iPod most definately. You can take it with you and it's always current (if you sync). No burning of disks.

Recomend the 8gb Nano iPod. Bee-utiful.

I know the '05 has built in mp3 CD capability.

But i am about to shell out the money on an Aux cable so i can run my Zen Vision: M through the head unit. Burning Cd's get old after a while.

Definitely iPod and DICE:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW (Radio Interface R40)

Of you have a MY05+, you will get text display on the radio as well.

I like the iPod, if for no other reason than there are so many accessories available for it.

I like my factory radio that plays MP3's. No one is going to break my window & steal it.

Sad, but true. You are correct. Scum bags will do most anything. I think my odds are much better for it not happening with the stock unit in there.

I vote iPod as well. When I went with only MP3 CDs I always forgot what was on them... and with the stop HU's lack of folder/track information, it just got frustrating to remember.

Get yourself an AUX input, create (or buy) a nice mount, get the Belkin adapter and you're set.
