still modify the CVT program?
2 questions.....does the MTH still alter the characteristics of the CVT?
And secondly. I bought MTH way back when they offered free updates for life. Shortly after, this 'free updates for life' offer was revoked. But we were given 2 free updates. My laptop crashed and i can no longer access the files or the backup files. I figure there is nothing i can do, but I'm ever hopeful that maybe my name is in the database and my customer number or files could be found again. Thanks so much.

2) Where/who did you get your file from?

This is a question that I have been wondering for quite awile.
Can you get RID of the artifical shifts that the CVT has?
IF it worked like a CVT should, wouldn't you not feel any shifting?
Thanks

I've never noticed shifting except for when you floor the pedal in SD mode (this activates the sport shifting mode to make the car feel like its shifting)
It changes how quickly it revs to 5k and it also kicks in at like 3.5k rather than 3k in SD mode. It's kinda hard to explain, but i loved it.

Re-mapping is carried out for the CVT. It is, as you know, not like a normal automatic where you have particular points with where to say at which torque it should change. We increase the RPM values in relation to the throttle position, therefore one has more revs, hence more power, resulting in higher acceleration
Hope this helps

Can you do anything to up the rev limit on the 6 speed automatics on the MCS???
The engine RPM limit may be raised but the car still upshifts at 6750, negating the ability to use the higher RPM limit.

Even If I have the CVT in D, when I mash the throttle the RPMS will go close to redline then it will "shift" and repeat untill I let off.
I understand that the S.D mode is supose to be this way, and I do like to go into the manual mode.
But the way a CVT should truly work, I think, is for it to reach optimal RPM and stay there while the CVT does its work. This of course makes the car "feel like the Tranny is slipping"
This of course is why many car companys put in artifical shift points.
Set me right if I'm wrong.
Cheers

I'm not sure what the "bump" is for. Have you contacted me directly?
From the DMH web site:
"CVTs are not like typical automatics in which there are particular torque points that gear changes occur. MTH increases the RPM values in relation to the throttle position (therefore one has more revs) hence more power, resulting in higher acceleration. The MTH Tuning File is strongly recommended."

Will the tuner file get rid of the artificial shft points?

Are you pushing the detent? That's what the detent is supposed to do. If you dont want fake shifts, floor it up TILL the detent.
