Do I need an MTH Up-Grade?

I currently have an older version programmed for 15% SC pulley, Alta cai and Magnaflow exhaust. Recently I added the +2% lightweight crank pulley which now makes my SC pulley an effective 17%.
Do I really need an MTH upgrade? I mean, will it honestly make that much difference in perfoermance?

dont really know.. but, a total 17% reduction in pully size will force more air into the engine than a 15% reduction pully... A/F ratios might need adjusting...

my 0.02cents

Looking to hear an answer for this. How's the 2% lightweight pulley working for ya? I seem to be shadowing your mods

Only way to know is to data log.

If your A/Fs get too lean in WOT, then yes, you need a new map. If the trim values peg in closed loop mode, you need a new map.
Since the Mini runs pig rich, WOT should be fine....

Thanks for your comments. I was hoping that tradiuz would respond since he should have more background knowledge as to the need/real benefits to up-grade ecu for 15 vs 17% SC pulley

I would recommend an upgrade due to the fact that you're pushing more air into the engine. It might not make much difference in performance, but it will be sure to keep your car from running too lean. Lean conditions lead to very bad things... detonation, wear and tear, etc.

If you have the sandard file I would highly recommend an upgrade to the tuner file. I had the standard file which was upgraded to version five (now known as the tuner file) and it made a dramatic difference in performance. Dyno numbers increased as well.

Standard file V5 is not the tuner file. It was just the last development before the tuner file.

Maybe my version five was a "super five" because Franz tweeked it based on my mods + dyno chart. I compared my post version five dyno chart with one with same mods + tuner file. The dyno charts were virtually identical.

I have an earlier standard file, think its V4 but was tuned to my mods prior to adding the +2% crank pulley

Hey Apexer... so are you going to go ahead and get that tuner file? I'm anxious to hear your impressions.

Probably not for awhile. My source for the OBDII Cable and laptop no longer available. Will probably wait until spring as don't plan on driving the Mini that much during winter months.
