well, guys i finaly got the header in the mail. i must say it is very pretty piece of metal... looks like you could put it up on the wall as piece abstract art.. most impressive. i will be getting my car dynoed next week and i i will post the results ASAP. my mods include alta intake, miltek exhaust, and mth-tuner file/header combo. i'm running 172whp right now with out the mth combo..so, it would be interesting to see what it will produce after it is all said and done. i'm hoping for 200whp. we shall see... any bets?

If you're just adding the mth tuner and header, I bet 192. It's just not going to hit 200 whp.

wait....you have an MCS with stock pulley, just Alta intake and Milltek exhaust putting down 172 at the wheels? With stock software? Is that SAE corrected? What year MCS? And, do you know how other MCSs have done on that same dyno? I re-evaluate my projection: without pulley but with the header and software, 185 at the wheels.

i have a 2005 MCS with dinan stage 3 programing, alta intake, and miltek. i posted my baseline dyno in a different thread.. it does show 172 whp with 91 octane gas..

Quite a strong car indeed! Well, I say 185 at the wheels. I'd be surprised to see any higher without a pulley.

yeah, i know.. its all good. i dont know what other MCS are putting down on the dynos.. but, mine seems impressive.. i know higher octane might get me the the higher numbers, but i'm preferr realistic numbers.. if i do get 185-190whp with out ruining my warranty i'll be a happy driver...

You bought their header, add an intake and catback. What makes you think you got a warranty now?

Yeah, yeah, its got to be related to the part. Good luck

yeah.. however, the items i'm replacing do not involve any moving parts.. so, it is safe to say i should be ok.

the only "part" option that bothers me is the reduction pully. i do know about how reliable it is. i just dont like stressing about belt breaking or having to change it often. maybe i will get a reduction pully one day. i'm just trying to see how far i can stretch the envelope without going that route..

mth-TUNER FILE & HEADER combo is impressive

i must say today was a good day.. i uploaded the tuner file and installed the header today.. this combo is very impressive to say the least.

the miltek cat-back is no longer quiet.(sounds just about right) almost like magnaflow without the db's.. the power is very smooth but, hauls azz.. it reminds me of my old 2004 R32(stock) in power deliverly...200whp?? maybe or just a little less. we shall seee.. i'll do a full write up once i dyno the car in about a week or so..

i'm pretty certain that it will pass smog... it may not pass visual inspection if the tech know what to look for.. (keep your stock header intact and in storage for that reason) btw, dont need to smog for 6 years anyway...

400cell cat is the way to go... got a friend with a 2001 M3 with euro headers installed.. that exhaust comes with 400cell cats.. pass the sniff test with no problems. (so she says)
