2005 R53, 160k miles, southeast North Carolina, needs head rebuild.

I bought this 2 yrs. ago to pull some parts off of it. Turns out I only used the coil overs. No sunroof so good platform for a track car or race car. It's been sitting in my garage since I bought it. Put a gallon of gas in it, jumped the battery, & it started right up.

The good:
Leather seats
Chronos package
WMW 16% pulley
Intake (cone filter but no cold air intake so maybe should be on the bad list?)
Custom exhaust (loud)
Recent supercharger oil (seller told me)
No sunroof (good platform for racecar/trackcar)

The bad:
Bad cylinder (Seller said leak down test showed a bad valve. Doesn't smoke so seems right)
Needs tires
Headliner falling
Spot of rust on hatch
Inside drivers door release not working

 

Where did the car spend most of its life? Can you provide the last 7 of the VIN so we can check out the build sheet?

ohhh now it's tempting, is there any rust under it where the control arms attach to the body? I have seen northern cars rot right there

Nothing more than surface rust I think. I replace the adjustable control arms with the stockers when I pulled the coilovers & don't remember anything significant & didn't have a problem getting the arms out. I can take a pic for you. I will be around this weekend.
