The last one on BaT with 4K miles sold for $45,000. Waaaay north of the original purchase price.
Plus another $2,250 in buyer fees, transport, sales tax, registration fees, maintenance on a car sitting for 15years, .... etc... so consider $50k gone....
Then the cycle of opportunity-cost of that money spent..... registration, taxes etc... begins anew....
Ahh.... to be a 'collector of fine motor cars'
.

I was more using a pristine, low mile (10-15k) as an example. These unicorns will obviously fetch top dollar. Good luck with your bidding JacMac, I hope you steal it.

Just showing that GP some respect with bid or two. I’ll be long gone when the crazies show up in the final hours next week. Already scratched the GP1 ownership itch many years ago...
Absolutely! Speaking of good deals, a local GP1 owner is planning to sell his high mileage modified GP1 for around the $10-11k range. Will be sure to share details once it’s officially listed.
@burley I may have missed it, but did you ever find your next JCW?
Late reply, but no.. still searching. Making sure work stays steady before I buy a 3rd car (toy), the pandemic threw my business into a whirlwind for a bit but its settling back to normal.

Look what the cat dragged in lol. Almost 4 years and 85 pages you got going here. We’ve been holding it down while you were gone.
This is definitely my favorite thread on this forum. It’s probably the most active too.
Might end up being the “go to” place to make finding a MINI easier for the young guns when they realize how awesome these cars are. The more eyes out looking the better. This thread wasn’t nearly as active during my two year search, that’s how I got wrapped up in searching, now I can’t stop. I might need therapy soon.
That guy was selling quite a few nice R53s last couple years. Seems like he transitioned to later models recently, probably easier to find for him. Cool he specializes in MINIs. Wish I were him.

I was over there yesterday. I’ve bought 2 R55 JCW’s from him. He has R53’s from time to time but they usually don’t make it to advertising stage - they’re snapped up by people that have told him what they want / need. He’s a really good guy. BMW / Mini master tech too, so he knows his stuff and preps the cars right.
