Yeah the JCW mats will fetch a few bucks instantly, especially if they’re in good shape. I would jump on contacting the seller, you know these are gone in a flash, gather some info and have a nice drive back in a JCW. Keep us posted.
I'm out... What am I thinking?? ( too much effort to drive down there)
But Chamberlain... You should grab it... its the BRG you've been wanting !!
That 2005 in Reno area is still out there... costs a lot less, less miles, slicktop (not my first choice), chrono, already has anthracite HL... and, is closer to me.
The Grey would be nice with my Redwood R56 seats... very 'German' ... I'm not at all a fan of the MINI 2-tone seating.
BRG is a stunner tho... Painted my Jensen Interceptor-III Convertible the Mini-BRG.
Edit:
Dang... Someone from the east coast (KRAWZ ??) has committed to buying it...Snoozing and loozing here ... Ha.
Grey with Sakhir BMW.... NICE!!! Similar to Redwood color MINI-Lounge-Leather

You know, the only reason this one popped up is because I bought the Royal Grey one less than 48 hours ago right? Lol
@Chamberlin1 Don't be bummed. The BRG seems fairly priced and pretty loaded (cool aux gauges), but it's not very clean or well presented for "always babied and garaged" -- I know, easy to fix, but still...if you can't take the time to wash and detail it before asking top dollar, well...what else didn't you have time to take care of on it.
Anyhow, I like the Royal Grey stealth beast you got, and hopefully you have some extra $$ leftover (vs that $8500 BRG price) to tend to what it needs to make it perfect.
So, be happy you have the (Bummed)RG instead of the BRG!
EDIT: and dammit, if you have time to chase that BRG, you have time to tell us the RG story. Git typing now!
Did anyone get a VIN on that BRG? Would be fun to see specs and keep track of where that one ends up.

Damn you guys, my R53 addict brothers and sisters! I ended up working 12 hours straight today, crazy busy right now but I promise to start the _RG thread this weekend! If it makes you feel any better, I've only driven the car about 4 miles so far (a buddy drove it home from Phoenix).
I seem to only have time to check in here on this thread (which I obviously shouldn't be doing!) and that's about it.
I'm with you guys though, all of your thoughts are/were my thoughts... Buy the BRG and chose which to keep...Be happy you got a cool RG stealth slick top...Buy both and keep both...Sell the RG immediately and buy the BRG...Sell my 2021 for a huge loss and buy a fleet of R53s! I've thought about it all!
I'm looking for reasons to not like the BRG (mods, mileage, distance etc) but a green factory JCW *is* what I was really after, and I just ended up jumping on the RG for its unique spec, lower mileage and only 90 miles away. Time and timing. The two most important things!
I'll still be looking and posting when I see 'em, this thread is my life blood right now! Sometimes I think I bought the RG more for you guys than for me! (don't tell my wife that).
Chamberlin1 can post the VIN and specs when he buys it...hope it goes to someone here, wonder what happened to burley, he checked in a few months back looking for another JCW. I actually didn’t think the BRG looked too neglected (dirty), I think he probably kept it up pretty good, until he got a new ride, you know how that goes. Half the fun of buying a 15 year old car is bringing it back, when I grabbed mine, there was nothing to do, it was spotless, I kept looking for something to clean lol.

Waves hand!
It's getting on a truck later this week, so much uncertainty and risk with this one but the price is low enough that it will hopefully be a fun adventure. I'm not buying anymore New England cars if I can help it. I was stubborn for a slick top, I almost went for the similar BAT car last week, really struggled with that.

Chamberlin1, you go get the BRG, and I will take the RG? Win win?

Congrats!
"So much uncertainty and risk"...mainly because you are buying it sight unseen? Or risks because of issues/needs you are aware of with the car? Hopefully, you did a thorough video walkaround and are planning to do a PPI.
Enjoy and welcome back to the fun --- I'm sure it will work out well!
To me, looks like easily the best Gen-1 JCW on here in a while... and glad the post came in handy 🤙
not much risk tho at that price unless the engine blows up on you (unlikely) or the photos are of another car 🤣😂
for another $2-5k ... it will be better than most any BAT G-1
congrats ... please give us a ‘NAM success story’ follow up if you can

Exactly how I found mine, that friggin search tempest everyday, catch one within hours of post, jump right in and cross your fingers...so much fun. Now get that beauty over here to the north east...so we can get that thing all rusty haha. Hope it turns out like mine, way better than expected.
I talked to Tom (owner) yesterday for over an hour. Super nice guy. Very knowledgeable. Looks like a super nice car minus a few areas (drivers seat, said there’s a tiny amount of surface rust under taillight, rock chips galore). All very minor things that can be fixed. I was considering it since I would love a BRG R53 JCW, but for the asking price I’ve passed on similar R53s with half the mileage. I hope it finds a good new home.

Thanks for that one @krawzdogg ! I hadn't even thought to check out our own classifieds section lately, with all the crazy cars coming through here!
Just a quick heads up, I got some more pics from the other S.D. BRG JCW guy, and I think the engine bay shot alone has me sold....I know *clean* isn't representative of perfect running condition, but I sure do appreciate a sterile engine bay! This one is minty...looks better than my red one even. It's the first time I've seen an engine bay shot cleaner than the rest of the car! Bottom line, I will be talking to him this evening over the phone...
@lotter1 I didn't realize you were in Tucson also??? Damn mobile version doesn't show location unless you go looking for it on a user. OK, so the current situation is that I have a possible buyer for the RG in NorCal, somebody who was originally interested in my red JCW. I stayed in contact with her all this time. She's considering driving down to L.A. to buy the RG if we go to S.D to pick up the BRG. I'm a little concerned though, taking a car that's new to me on a 600+ mile trip without doing my usual $5000 overhaul (LOL). I'd obviously prefer to sell it local (if I decide to go this route) if not just so the buyer can inspect the car and know what's what... I guess the worst that happens is that she doesn't buy it, and my buddy and I have a great RG/BRG race home on I-10! But I just wanted to let you know that I've got you in mind if you're seriously interested, but she's been looking for the right car for months and is at wits end, so if I can make this work for both of us I think the karma would be pleased. Again, this is all assuming I decide to do this after talking to BRG #1 this evening, and my wife doesn't hire a contract killer to snuff me out. You guys have no idea what I put this poor woman through over the last 10 years!
