Given, it's at 100k and most likely needs some attention I'd reckon.

Agreed. And pre-LCI grille trim and taillights as well as reverse light in the bumper. Makes it a 2002/2003 in my book.

Looks like it is in great shape -- I'd certainly be a buyer at that price if I was in the market. (EDIT: Then again, on second thought, one of the most expensive MINIs I ever bought was an R53 with 80k miles -- the deferred maintenance and repairs plus chasing down the leaks plus a new clutch the next year was a killer, financially. Definitely would want a pre-purchase inspection on this one. But then, it's only 4700....).

I was in contact with the seller.

Offered him 10k and said I would arrange payment for him and have an auto transport pick it up.

Sounds like he was scared dealing with someone so far away (California) and didnt want to let it go sight unseen.

 

He did say he had a couple of out of state buyers but was uncomfortable dealing with someone out of state - not sure why. But it worked out well for me.
