FS: 06 MCS: Smurfette

Smurfette is a 2006 MINI Cooper S, she is Hyper Blue Metallic with a White Roof and Mirrors and White S-Lite wheels. She has the Sport Package which includes DSC (Dynamite Stability Control), 17" wheels, foglights, and Xenon headlights, she also has the Premium Package which includes the Multi-function steering wheel, which gives you cruise control and stereo controls, Automatic Air Conditioning and the On-Board Computer which allows you to track average speed, current and average MPG, as well as miles left till empty.

I gave her the LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and the Rear Fog light on the outside. And on the Inside Smurfette has Gray and Black Leatherette seats, an Anthracite Headliner, Chrome lined interior (which includes the gauges, AC vents, and a few other places), she also has the Harmon/Kardon Sound system and a interior Dash body color treatment meaning the dash and the door rings are Hyper Blue to match the outside.

Thats how i picked her up brand new, since then she has been treated like a queen, washed every 2 weeks and waxed once a month. She has had some new additions since rolling off the show room floor. She has a lowered sport suspension using H&R sport springs, ALTA rear lower control arms and a H&R 19mm Sway Bar. Her boot has been debadged of everything except the MINI wings. She also didnt like looking like an RC car so i gave her a ALTA shorty antenna. She has never had a front plate to ruin her classic good looks. She has however recieved a blacked out grill and a sporty red rubber dipped tow hook to give her that just off the track look. She recieved some new shoes not too long ago in the form of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW performance tires in a 205/45ZR17 size.

All interior lights are LED including the dome, puddle lights under the doors, foot well lights (using 12" LED strips), map lights and the boot light (again using 12" LED strips), the only thing that does have a LED light is the glove box.

Im starting her off at $24,500 obo. If you would like to contact me and ask questions my email is irishmykl@mac.com and my phone # is 817 703 7610. Below are some pictures.

Price Drop to $23,500 obo

Nice car, reasonable mileage, price too high. I sold my '06 earlier in the year for $20K, my theory is that's about as high as people are willing to go for a used one. If you're going to pay over $20K for a MINI, why not just order new? Another factor is the higher you are asking, the more people will need to secure financing for it, and that just adds another layer of hassle dealing with a private seller. Not trying to be a downer, just telling you my experience selling my MINI and other cars over the years.

Thanks for your input, i have a high payoff so thats why i started it that high but i guess i will have to bring it down. $20K? that seems a bit low the dealership i was looking at a new car was going to offer me $20k trade in value so i assume i can get more private party.

Since you asked for it: I am looking for a HB/W Mini just like yours. The only problem is that I want one with around 10K miles and I will not pay over 20K for it. I can spend a few extra $$ and get a brand new MINI. For your price, I can definitely get a new MINI. Unfortunately, your mods don't increase the value of your car. You may get some bites outside of this forum, but on here you will have Smurfette forever. Sorry......

I took it to a dealer and they offered me $20k as a Trade In value, so i figured i could get more than that selling it private party, thats why its listed at that and the price is negoitable, thats why it says OBO. And thank you for your feedback. I am willing to go lower im just doing it gradually. If you look at the value on KBB.com and NADA.com you will see that $20k is way below market value but i see thats about what they are going for with my mileage and such, but i would be surprised if you can find a car in this condition with only 10k miles for under $20k.

Yes. $20K in trade is not a bad offer... you might want to take it while it is on the table. Bubbles break hard and fast...

Yep, $20K trade-in sounds pretty good... depending on what you're trading for... seriously, they'll get you one way or another... But if a MINI dealer is offering that, I'd take it before they change their mind.

I'm not sure where KBB.com gets their numbers from, but they've been notoriously over-priced for years now... as if they came up with a modifier back in 2004 and haven't changed it since... Edmunds.com seems to be a tad more realistic...

As much as I like the looks of the R53 more than the R56, the performance difference hurts R53 values severely...

I really like your MINI, but 27K miles is too much for me. I really hope you get what you want for it. I agree, I would go with the dealer trade-in for 20K. Good luck.

It was actually a Volkswagen dealer here in Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas, i was looking at a GTI they had. But they have since sold it and i have my eye on another 03 GTI, but its a private seller, so as much as i dont like it im going to see what carmax offers too.

Haha sorry this is a bit off topic, but I'm looking at getting into a new GTI also. The VW dealer here offered me $17k.

I say take it!

Carmax

Take it to Carmax. I used to work there and if you take it in on a weekday around 10 am it will only take about 30 mins for the appraisal process.

Its good for 7 days so you don't have to make a decision right away and they will tell you exactly what it is worth.

20K from the dealership TAKE it .

I just sold (6 days ago) my '05 MCSC - DS with everything as yours (no Chrome no automatic A/C , no SLD but with NAV System and Cold weather package and OEM iPod connection). 25,500 miles extended maintenance until (50K miles or 4 yrs)

Went to Carmax.. I was offered $16,000.

My dealership offered me $19,000.00 I tried to sell for $22,000.00

Got $21,500.00 - I addedd the spare tire and floor mats .

Damn, that's rough. I swear it seems that CarMax either pleasantly surprised or completely offends when it comes to their used car values... Nothing in between.

Best of luck with your sale!
