Assume lease on my 05 Cooper S?
Assume lease on my 05 Cooper S?
Anyone interested? Car dealership are jerking me around on a trade in for a new mazdaspeed 3. Thinking i am gonna need a bigger car for the new puppy. Cant say i really want to sell it but i figured i would see if anyone is interested.
Car is located in alexandria, va, would prefer a local buyer.
$20,600 left on the lease, buyout i think it like 14-16k, could find out for sure.
lease is 12k miles a year
car is an 05 cooper S (mods are in sig, can go back to stock if you would like)
20,600 miles on the car (ironic)
SSR gt-7 wheels with prolly 3-4k on the tires
m7 tuning coilovers
h-sport rear bar
15% pully
factory painted aero kit
intake
virginia legal tint
black faux leather interior
oil changes done around 5k and ONLY at the dealer
ONLY dealer serviced
lease per month is $303 dollars, a little less than 3 years left on the lease. Car is in EXCELLENT condition, inside and mechanically.
If you are interested PM me, i will let you assume the lease with all mods currently on the car, or closer back to stock if you prefer. I think it is a hella deal, if you are a generation 1 loyalist like me! Buyout on lease is 20,600 dollars, much less than buying a used cooper s through a dealer, expecially with all the money i have put into the car.

theoretically you cannot mod a leased car. But you can return it to bone stock on a return, and it is nothing different than driving stock for the leasing period. So the above post is correct.
Current "payoff" price is 20,600 dollars, which is a lot less than the going rate for a cooper with this low mileage. Your estimation is correct, the actual car with tax, etc cost me around 26900 total. That is with all the options, etc.
Payoff goes down with each payment. Basically, the lease is like buying the car outright now, because i have already paid the initial tax, title, associated leasing fees.
Paying off the car before the buy-out obviously would be the way to go, as you dont continute to pay the lease fee, rather you assume a loan on the car. Unfortunately my leasing comany doesnt not offer lease to loan conversions in virginia, as it was purchaced in ohio originally. It would be much easier for me to buy out the car on a loan then resell, but i would need a third party bank to do that.
just a note, this car was purchaced as an end of year 05, in march of 06 off classic minis lot. So the warranty is extended much further than your typical 05. What can i say i couldnt wait for the shipping on it, and the 06 they had on the lot was nothing that i wanted.

Good luck. It sux your getting rid of it. This sounds like a pretty good deal w/ the extras. I wish I had your coil overs and aero kit.
