Silo tour in ....Nebraska?

Yes thats right. Sounds like ricky and myself the current members of C.O.R.N Coopers Of Rural Nebraska will be meeting those of you from 5280 at the silo for the tour. I plan on bringing the teardrop for a real test pull before the dragon trip starting on the 3rd so until then. Start the countdown.....

James, I have an idea

You ought to formally get C.O.R.N. going and set up a club website so that we can watch yours and all can communicate. A few thoughts:
  • You can get a club site right here in NAM
  • Contact Mark Ferguson at MFerguson@NorthAmericanMotoring.com and he will help you
  • It is free
  • They have hosted us and many, many other clubs
  • You can do a cool new Logo for CORN with a MINI sitting on top of the world's biggest (horizontal) ear of corn
  • and more.
Check it out. It would be nice to see your club in there, then we can do more joint stuff with C.O.R.N.....

Further, that gives us the chance to drag out all those lousy old CORN jokes.....

...two corn stalks were walking around downtown, when they noticed that a 3rd had been following them. The 1st says to the 2nd "Don't look now, but it appears we are being followed by a stalker..."

(rim shot)

Thanks 5280

It was great meeting all of you today. Thanks for the warm welcome at the Sinclair station in Kimball. All three of us Rick, Wanda and myself enjoyed running with several MINI's if olny for a short distance to the silo. I don't think the smile left my face all the way home (290 miles). I look forward to attending more events with your club.
Thanks again to all who made this event possible.

Hey Jim!

Seriously...if you CAN get a C.O.R.N. logo going, we will promote you as a partner in MitM...and you can pick a ride to lead. Hey, maybe stir up some more CORN Huskers....

We enjoyed meeting all the Nebraskans too! Sorry we don't get out that way more often, perhaps sometime we'll have to plan a visit to the zoo...

For anyone interested in pictures, I have a gallery from our visit here:

Including some fine pics of that trailer.

Got out of the wind...

and into the cool, secure and quiet silo. Solid concrete and steel everywhere! There were many innovative and personal touches which gave the building a homey feeling that the original USAF missileers probably never felt.

Thanks Kendall for organizing this fun road trip! There were 18 MINIs from the Denver area and two (including one towing a teardrop camper trailer) from Nebraska. The Nebraska folks drover further than the Denver folks!

Fun!

Thanks so much for such a fun time! The drives up and back were a blast and the Silo itself was amazing. My son wants us to buy one right away!

Thanks for the wonderful picnic as well!

We're looking forward to Gateway, see you all then!
