need a tap&die set with a 12mx1.5 tap

does anyone have an extended tap kit that has the m12x1.5 that the r53 uses on the wheel hubs? I rushed through the wheel stud conversion and cross threaded one of my hubs. I am hoping to save the hub with a tap. Hopefully the conversion stud is hammered more than the hub that I can still use m12. Might also need a m14 in case the thread are too far crossed.

Many Auto Parts stores carry this tap (usually under $10).

Hi
What you actually need is a DIE if it is for the stud. Since you are not actally cutting new threads you are repairing damaged ones. Go to a NAPA parts store and ask for a thread chaser. They look like a regular NUT but are designed to repair damaged threads. There are also DIEs available that are hex shaped so that you can use them with a socket and ratchet.
If you cant find anythin or can wait about a week, I will be traveling in my MINI back to Golden, Co. to visit family and could bring my Die with me.

???
The stud size is 12.1.5mm
The hub threads are much larger and not efected when changing from lug bolts to lug studs

You lost me. He cross threaded the stud in the hub. He wants to chase the threads in the hub to avoid replacing it. Not sure what you mean about the different thread sizes.
Anyway, I'll wait untill the 12th, maybe it'll make more sense when we look at his dilemma.

you got it right B. The ironic thing is this is all because I still have not been able to fit the team dynamics race wheels that I picked up. The OEM lug bolts would not clear the bolt wholes on the TDR wheels. So I started putting on the stud conversion kit that I had sitting around. I should have stopped when that particular one was not sitting in right. oh well.
