MITM4 - MINIs in the Mountains 2009

For those of you who have recently asked, YES we will be continuing our grand tradition of MINI and Mini gatherings in the Mountains of Colorado in the summertime. MITM4 has been scheduled and here are the details:
  • MITM4 MINIs in the Mountains IV at Copper Mountain, CO
  • August 5-9, 2009 (Wednesday 5:00 pm thru Saturday night)
  • Full details and information at our dedicated site www.MINIsintheMountains.com
  • Questions can be directed to MITM@MINI5280.org
  • Registration this year will open EARLY, on or about April 1 or so, to allow more than 3 months to register
  • There will be new rides and fun new dinner options (read: less expensive to you)
  • You CAN book your rooms now if you wish at www.CopperColorado.com and tell them you are with the MINI group. Use Group Code 3GD8K0 and there are 12 varieties of rooms in our block to choose from, some with underground parking, some without.
Thank you for your attendance in the past and your interest in this year's event, again hosted by MINI5280 and Ralph Schomp MINI.

Jonathan and Rick

Most will stay in Copper, generally in the center of the resort near Burning Stones Plaza. A few may stay in Frisco which is right down the road from Copper.

Wikedgolf, I stayed in Frisco last year and if I get to attend again this year, Frisco it will be again. I had a great time last year and met some of the best people. I have many images in my signature link of last year's even if you have any desire to take a gander.

The top deck of the parking structure is where the vendors will be as well as check-in and MINI/Mini parking. This is just east of the Burning Stones Plaza area near Mountain Plaza.

This map is available on the Copper site at: http://www.coppercolorado.com/the_mo...maps/index.htm (less the MITM annotations of course).

I love it! Questions that matter to all!

There are two ways to skin this cat:
  1. You CAN log in to the www.CopperColorado.com site and see everything there, including SUMMER maps (different that WINTER maps - NO big piles of snow).
  2. At the same site, you can see ALL summer activities and things to do.
  3. As noted below, our event is BASED in / on the parking structure right by Burning Stones Plaza. Easy access, free parking (100 spots above, 100 below) and that is where the vendors, music, and entertainment all are located.
Feel free to POST with any other questions or issues. Our past attendees, if not Rick and I, will answer them all and get you going.

We look forward to having you.

Jonathan and Rick

Some day, Chuck will actually SHOW ME how

to put MAPS and things in my posts, rather that just ATTACH them. But for now, as in the past, that remains a big big secret.

I'll take that dare

In the past we have been covered by a number of groups and organizations, as well as individual members from other MINI and Mini clubs. We put no restrictions on who can say, quote, or photograph what.

What we do ask is that if you plan to attend, you register as a guest so that you can receive the whole package and also be fully aware of what our other guests enjoy. Further, since we also have a vendor / sponsor dinner we can provide promotion of your publication at no charge to you, as long as we can have a reasonable gift or giveaway to provide in your name. All of our vendors have participated in the past this way, and it is quite customary.

Finally, if you wish to promote your publication over the course of the entire event, we suggest you register as a vendor and therefore we can provide tent and table space and a reasonable environment in which to lounge for a few days, or parts thereof. The fee is minimal.

Just let Rick or I know if you have further questions or requests.

Jonathan

Wikedgolf, the parking structure is the meeting area. All runs leave from there and there are several all day long. The runs are posted on a board and you pick which ones you want. I love the Mt. Evans run and Western Dragon. Also, near the parking structure, there is a wash rack with free cleaning supplies and water.
Frisco is a few minutes away and it has pretty much everything you want or need in a town. It also allows you to have a few minutes of motoring time before you arrive at the parking structure every day.

Very cool...does this imply a new level of NAM sponsorship for MITM?

Please understand that MITM, from the beginning,

was a love child not only of ours (MINI5280) but of NAM as well. Without the vision that Mark had in the beginning, the event would not exist. NAM has never wavered in providing support, promotion, direction, and of course the technology to support our event.

Perhaps some things look a bit different now but the event and the intent are the same: fun for Motoring!

We appreciate the ongoing support of NAM, our financial partner Ralph Schomp MINI, our detailing partner DetailersParadise, and all the vendors who have come, joined us, sent swag, or just plain offered help in the past. There are too many to list.

I will see what we can do and talk it over with Mike and the rest of the crew. It is going to be a very busy summer.

Can't wait! This is our #3 out of 4. Will try to get the new WAMO_KS (Wichita Area Mini Owners) to attend this year.

Sounds like WAMO has a great thing going down there!

Perhaps your group would consider leading a ride, to a destination of your choosing, during our event. It can be something you have done prior or some new destination - and we have a few of those for you this year.

Whatever the case, let me know and Rick and I will help you set it up!

(and maybe you all show up wearing your new club logo!!!!)

One of my favorite perks of MITM.

I was there at sunrise every single day at MITM3. Yet, at the banquet when they acknowledged the people who had detailed their MINIs the most number of times during the event, I'm not sure I even made the Top Ten.
