I have a BRAND NEW B&M #45129 Short Shifter for a 2002-2003 Mini Cooper
If you are reading this you know what this is and how hard to find they are. And this one is new and never installed.
Artoo is currently being rebuilt into a track rat and when we looked at the B&M that was installed in her, it is still perfect so I am letting this one go.
$200 shipped anywhere in the Continental US. I am not interested in haggling as I had it for years on a shelf and it can easily go back there.
First person with PayPal gets the prize. Let me know.

PS-One of these went for $500 a few years ago. This is a bargain.
Question- i have an 2003 R53. Do i have to look for a specific manufacturer date of my car to see if it fits like the Craven Speed, or will it fit any R53?
This will only fit early first gen R50, 53 & 53. I believe it's up to early 04 but since they started changing the shift linkage end of 03 you can verify by lifting the shift boot and looking at the color of the shifter housing. If its black with a white retaining ring around the shift lever like this:
then this will NOT fit your MINI.
If it looks like this:
You are good to go!

My production date is 05/03 and I have this shifter installed. Look for the production date in the driver side door jam. Great shifter
They are great shifters. Just wish they hadn't stopped producing the 45131 for 04+
IMHO the Megan units are just as good tho and still available. I have SS-MINI-05 on my JCW and it's a huge difference over stock. Check out my pic after ssk **** and audi tt boot. Really shortened things up.

This will fit the 5 speed or the 6 speed up to manufacturing date 10/04.
When it's installed it make a huge difference. With a Whalen Shift Machine ****, it's a whole new car. Note that when it's installed it looks stock unlike the picture above.

I wasn't trying to torpedo your listing. Just providing info. The SSK you have is NLA for the mid 04+ MINI's or I would have gotten it. I had a torn boot and my stock **** had broken clips anyway so I found the TT boot on ebay and found another reputable **** maker with a quality 12x1.25 threaded ****. They come with threaded ***** that are lighter than stock which is why I opted for a nice, countersunk, heavy ****. At this height it tends to be a bit of a work out shifting but it is quicker and looks good IMO. I was simply providing info for those who see your listing and have a FL MINI but don't want the adjustable up/down kits. GLWS.
No problem. I just wanted everyone to know that when the B&M is installed, it looks like stock and takes a stock ****. And with a Shift Machine it's a killer setup.
It was installed in Artoo for years and this was in my parts bin. I don't remember why I bought a second one. But I am not selling the Whalen Shift Machine as it sits on my desk as a great reminder of Artoo as a daily driver.
Again, no worries about any torpedoing and in fact, keeping the thread alive makes it more likely that someone will see the listing and get this as there are very few of these left anywhere.
I had a Whalen and I too loved it. I sold it a bit ago when I had to get rid of my MC40. I would have bought another with the threaded adapter but I found this first for a lot less money. It weighs about the same as the WSM **** @ 610 grams but is countersunk to have it sit as low on the shifter as possible. I like the look of it a lot too.
Keeping the post alive!
And let me add that if you have a 2002-2003 Mini, you will not find a better shifter than this one. It is done right and if you put a Whelan Shift machine on the top, no adapter necessary, you will wonder how you ever went from 2nd to 3rd without it!
