Hi. Are 2002-2006 r53 shifters the same part?

 

No, the shift tower and cables changed in 2004. You need to make sure that you get the same setup you have or you will need to replace the shifter in the car as well as the cables.

 

Ok. I have a 06 mcs. I ordered a shoter shifter then realized in description was for 02 -09/2003. Wasnt sure if it would fit because ive seen some others listed as fitting 02-2010.

Unfortunately there is a year break in late 2003, instead of spending hundreds on getting cables to match the short shifter, I would recommend sending the shifter back and getting the correct unit for your application. Much less time and money spent going that route.
