Thumbs up Alta/Cobb AccessPORT

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $575
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R55, R56, R57, R58, R59
Location (Region): NorCal
Item Condition: Used

Unmarried Cobb/Alta Accessport. Purchased new in ’09 for my '08 R56 Cooper S. This is by far the best mod I ever made to the car. The difference in power and response is immediately noticeable. Comes complete in the box with all cables and instructions. Up to date Alta tunes included. One can also take it to any dyno shop with Cobb Protune software to tune your highly modded MINI.

Works with 2007-2010 Copper S Models (Hardtop, Convertible, Clubman) and 2009-2012 JCW Models (Hardtop, Convertible, Clubman, Coupe, Roadster). In other words, you must have the turbocharged N14 engine.

These are rare and normally go for $600 on the forums. Get this one today for $575 shipped to the lower 48.

I can only ship to Paypal verified addresses.

So who works with these units now that Cobb no longer supports the mini? I've been wanting to buy one, but figured it's just a dead end now.

Any dyno shop with Cobb Protune software can tune these including Alta and OXspeed. The AccessPORT comes preloaded with a ton of maps:

Stage 1, stage 1 FMIC, stage 2, stage 3 for 91 and 92+ octane for the JCW and MCS manual and MCS auto!

I would say that would cover more than 95% of MINI owners out there. Getting a protune is optional, or for users that are looking to make even more power than the stock maps provide. Normally a protune would be somewhere between $400-$500 depending where you go.

Cobb is not supporting the product anymore because they didn't want to invest in code for the newer N18 and B48 engines. Anyone with an N14 would be served well by this product

Do you have both the cables- The one that connects to the OBD2 port and the one to hook it to a lap top? Have you returned the Accessport to AS NEW out of the box and removed any custom maps you made. Ive read this is important when installing it on a "new" car

Yes to all.

As pictured above the AcessPORT comes complete in the original box with all the original cables and instructions. OBD2 and usb included. It is uninstalled, unmarried, and in factory "as new" condition ready to install on a new car.

I've come across a problem. I'm getting a CEL for p2885 for boost plausibility. Upon reading of the data streams the car is requesting 13.85 boost at idle and 33 pounds of boost at full throttle. A few seconds of this in top gear roll on and the car goes into limp. My bars metric pressure also reads 13.75 while sitting at idle? Related? What determines requested boost?
