I am looking to buy a used turbo. I do not know how much longer might be left on mine, so I felt the need to create a posting rather than going out to check every day.

I have a Cooper S N18, but N14 will work.

Order of preference would be

JCW N18
JCW N14
S N18
S N14

If available I would like to get the manifold with the JCW Turbo. No need for the manifold with S.

If you know of any reliable scrapers that sell parts, let me know. I have seen a few on eBay and they go from sketchy to a bit overpriced with no real in between.

I am looking to spend a bit less than a refurbed or upgraded one for now, but if I don't find one this way I will have to.

I would need it in my hands before the 2nd week of April, but would like it as soon as possible.

I know someone selling an N18 MCS turbo if you want to buy it.

 

Obviously if you can get one here cheap that's great but either Outmotoring or MiniMania sells rebuilt JCW turbos for N18 and N14 for about $800.

 

Yeah I am looking to get under that just a bit. But if it doesn't look like I will get anything in time or decent pricing used. I will likely go that route.

 

That's for a rebuilt "S" Turbo. OutMotoring has their JCW equivalent rebuild for $1395.00 and MiniMania has theirs for $1157.00. They're both made by JMTC so the price difference is puzzling. And if you go to JMTC direct you'll get it even cheaper for $857.99.

That's where I'll be looking for mine. I'm about to order a clutch and SMF from them after shopping around online for a couple of weeks. I called and talked to Eric, who is very helpful. They offer warranties, too, which you won't likely find on here or eBay

 

I see $677 plus a $250 core charge for a rebuild JCW N18 turbo on Minimania. Still not as cheap as direct but it's not $1100+

Unless I can get a decent price on a JCW N18 turbo, I think I am going rebuilt. There are better prices than I thought on some. Thank you all for the offers, and some for the info on what was available.

If anyone has a lead on a used JCW exhaust manifold, I would like to know though.

Check around with MINI dealers. Some have left over JCW manifolds from the JCW tuning kit that some people opted not to have installed. I got mine from eminiparts a dealer from the northeast at a very good price.
