I am selling an ACT clutch kit and matching flywheel that I purchased for my R53 Mini Cooper. The Clutch kit includes the pressure plate, clutch, throwout bearing , and alignment tool. The flywheel is the ACT STREETLITE Flywheel. It comes with the lightweight flywheel as well as the mounting hardware. both items are brand new and only opened to take pictures and check contents. So I have an 06 Mini Cooper s with 126,000 miles I just bought it two weeks ago. The guy said they had just replaced the clutch fly wheel and throw out bearing. I had heard it make a metal like grinding sound when cranking it a few times but it seemed to run and shift fine. On the way home Friday night it’s like the clutch went out but I’m not sure. There was a smell. It will move like it’s gonna go in gear but it’s like there is no gear there. You can let out the clutch the rpm wont drop or anything. I’m new to the minis so not too familiar with everything. If someone had some insight on what the problem might be it would be greatly appreciated!!

 

You should post this in the stock problems area but does the clutch pedal feel fine? Any noise when you let the clutch out? If someone rests the foot on the clutch pedal or slips it a lot it will wear out. My sone once went through a clutch disc in 11 months.
