Any reason why this is specifically for automatics?

I believe that there maybe clearance issues from the linkage on the manual transmissions. On other note, did you get your problem figured out?

Ah ok... As far as my boost issue, I had misplaced the spring on my stock DV. Ordered the Alta upgraded spring. Came in this evening. Will install tomorrow and see if problem solved. Reason I asked about your GFB DV, is that I might go this route if I find the Forge DV to be the culprit. Fingers crossed. Good luck on your sale.

Laters..

No. The N18 version is two pieces thus the higher price. It's a great product. I really have no problem keeping it for when the OEM one fails.

How do these help w/ higher boost? From what I understand the piston has a equalization valve that maintains a "balance" on both sides of the piston. The spring (and it's very small amount of force) facilitate the piston in closing once the magnet is de-energized. I started to question all these claims when I realized just how strong 21 psi is and there's no way the small spring (either stock or the ALTA) could withstand that pressure. Too strong a spring and one will get surging/stammering upon decel.
So, do these really help higher boost engines above what a ALTA spring will accomplish?

BTW, I understand they are beneficial if your diaphragm is torn or deleting the diaphragm all together is nice as it will never tear if its not there. All that I said. I do want one for the N14 motor

This is a classified "for sale" thread not a discussion thread. If you want to discuss the pros and cons of the device there are threads for that otherwise it just clutters the thread.
