Arrow Hyperco Springs for Ohlin R&T Coilovers

Category: Suspension
Price: $220
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R55, R56, R57, R58, R59, R60
Location (Region): SoCal
Item Condition: Used

Selling my Hyperco Springs off my Ohlins. Less than 1500 miles. Selling only because I want to get something shorter to slam the MINI.

The length and ID are the same specs as stock Ohlins, but they are a step stiffer compared to the stock springs you'd get. Not sure if these springs fit other setups, so I'd recommend calling your suspension manufacturer to determine if the ID and length are the same.

Having ridden on these for nearly 1500 miles, they do not make your ride aggressively stiff, but will reduce the roll you would normally get with the stock springs. Great great springs.

Fronts: 2.5in ID x 7in. @ 450#
Rears: 2.5in ID x 8in. @ 325#

These go for $81 per spring ($324), but selling the set for $220 shipped.

If you're happy with the general ride and handling with these, why don't you just cut 1/2 or 1 coil off of them? I know it is old school, but you can fine tune the height with the adjusters. About 2 minutes with a cutoff wheel and you are done.

It will stiffen the springs slightly. Just a thought.

Have fun,
Mike

No. I'm not going to mess with the integrity of springs but cutting them. As old-school of a thought that may be, if I'm going to do it, I'd rather do it right. So new springs rather than botching the cut.

I am wrong on this one. I'm used to OEM type springs, which usually have one end with open coils, so they can be trimmed. Coil over springs are normally closed and ground on both ends, so they can't be adjusted.

At least with your two sets of springs you have a good idea of what spring rate you will be happy with.

How low will you be able to go with your new 8" wheels? Again, you have experience with what fits on your car.

As low as I want I suppose. No wheel gap is the way it'll go when new set of springs come in. 6-7wks wait time apparently, so I have some time to get to it.

Seems like no one wants a good deal on some perfectly good Hyperco springs.

Just as an FYI, these are really about the same stiffness as the stock Ohlins springs (or they are balanced differently) not stiffer.

Stock is 400# front, 343# rear. So a little softer in front and stiffer in the back.

As I said, they are a "step stiffer". You will feel the difference...
