Dragon Attendees

I'd like to start a list here of who's coming, where you are staying, and meetup location for the drive up.

Audioman is meeting me here in Winston and I'd like to get as many MINI's in a row for the drive to Fontana.

Lets get this big list started and invite everyone you can thats not a M2C2 member.

May 5-8

I'm tentatively planning on going.. I was thinking about driving up Thursday for the "Big Dinner" staying overnight and doing the Friday events, then heading home late Friday.. or motoring up on Saturday for the day..

I'm also thinking about driving up on either Friday or Saturday and staying the day then coming home. I will not be staying for the weekend. I may not even be able to do that but that's my tentative plans at this point. I'd like to go up for at least 1 day. Anyone else from the Hickory area with similar plans??

Mellotron and I are headed up that Thursday and staying at the Fontana Inn for the weekend. Not sure what time we will be heading out of the Greenville area as long as we can make the dinner!

Sierra and I will be staying at Fontana Village, Thursday through Sunday. Last year, we missed the dinner on Thursday but will leave the Asheville area in time to make it this year. If this works with others, we'd love to caravan over with other MINIs. We'll probably leave mid-day.

It looks like the wife and I will come up on Thursday and stay until Saturday. Can't be missing the Mother's Day activities. We will be staying in Waynesville. I will be back the following Thursday for the Christian Sportbike Association Rally at the gap. Wow, two weekends at Deal's Gap I'm probably going to get spoiled to all those curves, but that is ok. Whats this about a dinner on Thursday night?

Hi, moonpie. I'm co-organizer of the Welcome Dinner on 5/5/05 which will be held at The Dam Room at Fontana Village. By the end of this month, Mark Ferguson will build a special Dragon sector on NAM's site with the schedule and information about each event. Stay tuned!

Question on the caravan - are we going to be carrying 2-way radios or something to coordinate with the people along the route?

Most people do use FRS type radios tuned to channel 7/21 while driving. It’s a great way to stay in contact and find out the route as you’re going along.

OK, plans have changed. I have decided to go for the entire weekend. I called this morning and was surprized to still be able to get a reservation  but I did. So I will be going up sometime Thursday afternoon and tentatively staying til Sunday. So I would like to hook up with the folks leaving from the Hickory/Asheville area if possible. I look forward to it .

By the way, thanks Moonpie for the link!

Eric and Melinda,

What time do you think you'll leave? Will you try to make the dinner on Thursday? We'd love to drive over with you if we can coordinate times. We'll try to leave so as to have enough time to unpack our stuff and get over to the dinner... probably leave early afternoon.

What time is the dinner? I was thinking about leaving sometime in the early afternoon but I wanted to talk to Melinda about when she was leaving and us hopefully drive up together. She told me last night that it's about a 3 hour drive from here (Hickory). But yes, I hope we can work something out to meet up with you.

We (wife and I) are going to head up Thursday so that we can make it to the dinner Thursday night. It would be great if we could hookup a caravan from the Greenville area or north of Gvlle. (Hendersonville to the Asheville area).
