Helenblitz is on once again.

The official dates will be February 26th trough Februay 28th.

I will post more details as I have them.

 

Whoo Hooo!!!! Tamara and I are planning to attend!

 

I will be there. Hopefully this is the year for great weather.

 

Gonna take a lot to keep me away! We had a blast last year in the rain. What the heck, I'll be there rain or shine!

Who wants to keep it at last yrs host hotel? or move it back to the Helendorf.. they now have free wifi! Also there is a restaraunt across the street who would love to host a meal!

 

You know you can count on us being there. last year on the way home we hit a big snow storm! The snowflakes were the size of half dollars! What a blast!

 

I have posted the info Carol sent me to the National Forum thread.

 

You'll need to post a thread on the different MINI clubs, or e-mail the club leadership to have their folks look at the National Forum on Helenblitz updates. A large number of the folks on here (NAM) don't go outside their own club's forums with the exception of the maintenance forums.

I wouldn't do "cross postings" (posting the same thing on multiple club forums), I did that last year in an effort to get the word out and one individual took exception to it and created a big headache for me. There are those out there that could care less that this is for charity.

I'll get the word out to our folks and pass the info on to Coastal MINIs.

Ain't it a shame one person can cause stupid problems like that? In my opinion, if there's an event that I'd be interested in, I'd sure hate that one small minded person would keep you from posting on a clubs forum.

 

Just made our reservations at the Helendorf Inn! Thanks for posting the hotel information on the "3rd Annual Helenblitz Charity Event" NAM thread, John!

We are looking forward to seeing the scedule of events for the weekend when they are posted. Tamara and I....and "Tillman" can hardly wait for "Helenblitz 2010!"

 

That was my thinking too. I thought it was funny none of the clubs complained...

But, with all that said and water under the bridge, I think this year will be great! I hope the weather cooperates.

 

What do we need to do? Just let you knw that we will be coming to the event? My husband and I will be there.

 

Last years event was super laid back and very fun. Even if the weather didn't cooperate. I don't even remember an official registration at the event. I just hope the weather is as good as the people we met last year! You'll have a blast.

 

For a newbie, any recomendations on where to stay??

I think many of us are staying at the Helendorf River Inn & Conference Center in Helen, GA. The hotel information is posted on the following thread, "3rd Annual Helenblitz Charity Event." You can call the Helendorf Inn reservation number at 1-800-445-2271. They are offering great rates of $54.00 per night for a Standard Room, or $70.00 per night for a Riverfront Room with balcony. Be sure to mention that you are with the "MINI Cooper" group as they have set aside rooms especially for us.

LilBonnie, Just a great little German town to visit and enjoy. Most arrive Friday and leave Sunday. Most will go on two or so nice twisty trips (several hours each). We usually have a couple of dinners together. Some meet for breakfast together. Bid everyone farewell after Sunday breakfast and everyone departs (some in groups, some alone). A nearby Winery usually bottles us some special label wine and gives us a tour of the production of wine. Just pick and choose as you like; do as much or as little as you like. Look forward to meeting and admiring your MINI.

I have never been to a HelenBlitz but it sounds like great fun. I'm checking my wife's calendar, so hope to come.
