i will be making my way to ft worth, texas jan 11th and i was wondering if anyone knows any of the mini nuts there? ill be there till jan 29th
anyone know of any great happenings in that time frame?? or is anyone motoring down there aswell?

One of the guys on the way to AMVIV last year got stopped 4 times before he got out of the state.. and he was going just a SHADE over the limit if at all! Seems the cops wanted to check out his car.

I lived in San Antonio and never got one ticket, and I drove the heck out of every car/truck I owned while I was there. I have been back in Albuquerque for just over a year and now have 4 tickets under my belt! Perhaps my Black GTO with Texas Plates on it had something to do with it. HaHaHa Darn I nned to get back into a Black MINI!

You'll just miss the monthly meetings, but there are several happy hours that go on, weekly. There's even one on the west side of the Metroplex which usually happens every Wednesday.

 

A few NAM guys from the "How Many Posts" thread meet on Saturdays at a little Mexican restaurant in Arlington. We talk MINIs and a bunch of other stuff, too.

 

Well I drove thru Texas like a bat out of hell, but once I got past San Antinio the law was really bad, and yes I got pulled 4 times running 2-4 miles over, but never got a ticket. Don't know any MINI people in Texas, but if you go to Arizona, Oklahoma, or Colorado, I know alot of MINI Great people. I will meet up with alot of them in March in Vegas. East side of Texas was fine, west side, well there is nothing and guess its there only revenue. As one State Trooper told me, this is my highway!

 

hahaha... those state troopers got issues there. i never seemed to have any problems with the law till i get around the borders of texas.. i got ticketed for doing 9 over at 2am about 1 mile away from the louisiana state line.. ahhh!
sad thing was, that on the ticket "there was heavy traffic" according to the officer.. it was 2am, there is never heavy traffic that late/early..
