Dan at Grassroots put in some goodies today!

Just had Dan, THE MAN at Grassroots Garage install a Helix CAI, with minor fabrication to use the existing back, (hello Dremel), and a too cool boost guage in the air vent in the dash. He hooked it up to dim with the rest of the dash, it fits perfectly and it's a blast to watch the swings from (average 20 lbs vacuum) to full on 11.5 lbs of boost, just before you hit the rev limiter ;-)

CAI first

Boost guage

Dan is the man!!! He did a great job on my M7 oil catch can. That guage is definitely killer. Luke banned from chrome?????that would just not be possible. Do you like the intake????

Mike, there's a vent on the top of the dash that picks up the extra air, along with the others. You can try it yourself, just close that vent and you'll hear the others picking up volume--nearly all mod's have trade offs, you just have to decide if it's worth it to you.

I like the intake a lot, it sounds F1! ;-) Not sure the wifey will like it, but hey, she's only in the car for another 6 months, and if she doesn't get on it, she won't hear it, right?! ;-) Hmmm...maybe I should get the Invidia exhaust so she won't have to listen to the intake?

Luke, you'll have to ask Dan about a chrome version.

Nice pics Dave,
Glad you like it!
I have been looking for a suitable gauge in chrome for Luke, and so far no luck. Only 1 with cheap chrome and a cheap looking black face.

Off topic: This is freaky, Dan, I've been surfing the vendor posts and just sent you an email about installing some of that "stuff" for me, b/c, as I said earlier, you're Dan the MAN! ;-)

On topic: Now that I've had it a while, and the weather is "cold" (NC version of cold ;-) it is noticable the air flow is slightly reduced in the direction of the driver, until the cabin warms, but it's not a big deal, and certainly, I'd recommend this mod, and Dan of course, to anybody...
