Dension Icelink+ Cradle vs. Dock Connector

I've decided to get the Icelink+ for my 05 MCS. Should I get the cradle or the dock connector? From what I understand, text will display on my stock head unit, but there may still be times when I will want to see the iPod screen and/or use the iPod controls. If that's correct, then I think the cradle might be better. Any thoughts?

I have the docking cradle and like having the iPod where I can see it. We have an '05 with the cup holder mounted higher up. Neither of the two ProClips that Dension offers would accomodate my preferred mounting location beneath the cupholder - lower down on the right side riser tube. I purchased the "low angled mount" directly from ProClip which mounts in that position with just enough of an angle to face the driver.

A note however - if you use it in Dension mode you'll have a tough time reading the smaller non-scrolling text on the iPod screen from the driver's seat. Using it in iPod mode displays all info in standard iPod font size - easily readable to the driver.

Thanks for your input BidiMINI. Would you happen to have any photos of your proclip / cupholder setup?

Thanks! We ordered the U2 edition of the iPod to go with the CR dash in our MCC.

I want to add that we ordered the Dension Icelink to get the version that hooks up to the back of the head unit. Installation took about 10-15 minutes and we've never had a problem. We are extremely pleased with the clarity of this interface! We've listened to an iPod hooked up to an Aux input and the clarity just isn't as rich. Not trying to dis those that chose the less expensive solution, but when I order my MCS, I'll definitely get another IceLink+ for it.
