Rear fog light

I am new to this car so this might be a dumb question.
i have a 2012 r57 convertible, it has the fog light option on it but the rear fog light does not work?
I took it out and there is a bulb there.
But the fog light switch only has the symbol for the front lights only.
Does that mean the rear fog light does not work?
If so, why does it have a socket and bulb in it?
My manual says I turn on the fog lights and then push down on the switch and should turn on the rear one.
If anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

All cars were shipped with the exterior fixtures and wring required. However, To enable the rear fog, you need install the dash switch and have the car coded to activate the feature.

I do have a fog light switch. Is there a different one I need? My car was equipped with front fog lights. And the fixture has wiring to it for the reverse lights at least.

Its a separate switch for the rear fog lights. Your switch panel would look like this if you had the rear fog light option:

The fog switch on the right side is for the rear fog light.

If they share the switch, you may only need the option coded.

Rear fogs were not a common option selected by US owners, though many cars already had the wiring & lamps fitted anyway.
I think you'll at least need to change the switch panel for the one njaremka posted Then get the option coded, probably by the $$$ealer, though with a little luck, it might not need coding!
