Pairing the keys

Hey all. I just replaced the batteries in my remotes because they weren't unlocking/locking my doors. Went the cheap route before buying a new mirror. Both keys start the car but still wont lock or unlock. Anybody have trouble pairing keys after replacing batteries and mirror? Any fixes or is it just try pairing a million times until it works. I've tried about 100 times already with no luck. 06 r50.

How did you replace the batteries. I have an 06 and it has the rechargeable batteries that are soldered to the circuit board and sealed inside the key case.

You have to cut the key open and desolder the old battery and solder in the new one.

I didn’t realize you had done that. I thought you had keys with non rechargeable batteries the way the post read to me. Try the procedure in this thread, post 11. If you’ve already done this then I’m out of info. Good luck

Did you make sure that the switches were still soldered onto the board?

I didn't see any broken connections and all the buttons are perfectly clicky. Would desoldering the battery leads cause anything else to desolder. I didn't think it would.

I have an '06 R52 and my key fob will not lock or unlock the doors....I also cannot get my Homelink mirror programmed for my garage door opener.....the dealer says my key is fine, they tested it at the service department......I'm thinking my inner rear view mirror circuit board is bad,,,,

I also have tried all the key fob reset procedures that I could find....nothing seems to work
