The MINI/XM SKY 01 has expanded capabilities. It is engineered to work with our up and coming SkyFi cradle.

Can you explain what the different products are for? I can't seem to find them on the Blitzsafe website.

I believe I need the the XMD/BMW 101 to go with the stock HK radio. Just need to make sure it will fit in the converatble side panel and find a place the antenna works.

On the convertable, you're going to find it difficult to mag mount the antenna.

As you have the advantage of an open top car, I'd suggest that the antenna will be fine on the dash, double sided in place.

The antenna comes witha long long wire, so should reach the front with no problems.

Anyone else tried this location on the covertable?

Chris.

I'm interested in purchasing XMD-BMW 101 (or its equivalent) also.
Is this the adaptor that'll connect XM-Direct to the head unit, and allow the MINI Cooper's stock radio to control the satradio?

OK, which of the above products do we need? I see mention of the "101" product, but this is nowhere to be found both in the initial post and on the application guide pdf file. Then, because most have the factory Alpine units, do we need the MINI/ALP or the MINI/XM because we will have the XM Direct tuner? Thanks!

The factory units are NOT Alpine - the ALP interfaces will NOT provide integration with the MINI head unit for XM Direct control.

Marc, which interface will you provide for the Terk XM Direct module, to interface directly to the MINI's existing HU?

Will this be discounted?

Chris.

i'm looking at an audiovox set by sirius for the mini. do you guys carry that, and also, will that allow steering wheel control, etc etc? also, will that plug into the cd changer section or does it have to go into the aux audio out? that is currently occupied by my ipod.

Interested but need help

I have an XM commander (won in a raffle) and a 2002 S, no changer, no HK. what do I need to support use with the multifunction wheel, and will I be able to read anything on the head unit?

Thanks for the input,

Matt

I have no first hand knowledge if our unit will fit behind the side panel. I would suggest putting the antenna on the dashboard.

While the BMW/XMD 101 is not part of this group buy, we can offer you the MINI/SKY 01 which offers expnaded capabilities. You will also be able control the up and coming SkyLink Direct with that part number.

For non-Sirius ready headunits, 2002 model year headunits, We can only offer you an audio input, no control or display options for the XM Commander.

This is also the case for any Sirius products. I can only offer audio input, no control for any Sirius products, in any year Mini.

head unit

Marc -
Will the 'sky' unit work with the XM tuner? Will you be able to control
the radio from the steering wheel and see artist/song on the radio display
with this 'sky' unit?

I know there was a really long thread on here about the xm direct and the bmw/xmd 101, so I am guessing you are going to get tons of questions about this product, any chance you can give a run down on the similarities and differences between the bmw/xmd 101 and the Mini/Sky unit? I think a lot of us are going to be looking for control through the stock head unit and retain the use of the multi function steering wheel also. Thanks again for setting up this buy and thanks in advance for any info you can send our way!!

The Blitzsafe website freaks out my IE to no end.

I'm looking for a Blitzsafe module to adapt the CD changer input to my stock h/k headunit to the XM Direct module - what part number[s] would work?

Checked your website first, but could find no mention of the SkyLink Direct. Can you define what that product is. From surfing the net it seems that the unit uses the Delphi SkiFi adaptor... is this correct?
