Oh, I hope you're right. I installed XM in my MINI promising my wife that as soon as the SkyLink is out, we'll upgrade so she can use the SkyFi in her car on occasion.

Plain vanilla AM/FM/CD radio in 2005 MCS

Marc, Reading all of the postings, it seems that everyone has the "high end" HK radio. I don't. The XM Direct and Turk Interface that is mentioned, will that work in my car with my radio and still give me read-outs on the face plate and work with the MFSW Addtionally, have you heard or seen anything on a more permanent antenna for the XM unit. I rather not have the magnet mount and I'm wondering if it can some how be intergrated with the MINI roof mount. Thank you. F

Marc or anyone--

I would like to get in on this great discount but I need help. Reading through all the Q&A has got me totally confused.

I currently have in my 03 MCS:
HK Stereo
MINI Aux input
Ipod/Denison Ice Link

This is what I want to do:
Use my MFSW
Read Info on my HK
Be able to use it at home/work

Is this possible?

Thanks for any help

Felix, Our XM Direct works with all Sirius ready headunits in Mini Coopers. As long as you car is 2003 or newer, it should work for you. As far as the antenna is concerned, I am not certain what other antennas are available.

Golden Child, are you referring SkyLink Direct? Please elaborate....

Marc--

Yes. I think?

I want to have the use of my MFSW and be able to read the information being displayed on my stock HK head unit. But I also want the option to be able hide the reciver in the boot and to remove it and dock it into a home stereo or portable radio.

So, I guess skylink direct is what I want.

Can I do this with the products mentioned?
Denison IceLink
MINI Aux input?

Thanks for you help and I hope I clarified my needs enough.

There should be no integration problems with the parts you listed. You will need the SLD 01, which has the pass thru for the oem changer.

Thanks Marc. One more question. Does the SkyLink Direct cradle (when available) take place of the Terk/XM Black box? or do I need to have both of them?

Thanks again.

The SkyLink Cradle will take the place of the Universal XM Tuner.

XM Commander

Marc,

I've got the XM Commander as well - I'd like to move it from my other car to
my Cooper and back once in a while.

I saw that Dr Obnxs asked you about the Commander on page 3 of this
thread and the question remained without any answer.

Could you please propose us a solution ? What features can we get - will
we be able to control the Commander from the stock Cooper radio
(I've got the 2005 model) ?

If that's only Audio Input - what's the benefit over the stock 39$ AUX solution please ?

Thanks
Regards
Bor.

OK, after waiting a week for an answer, I'll just go forward and order the regular AUX then.

I've been waiting for an answer as well Marc started another thread a few days ago and I posted to it just minutes after, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I have not been given further news on the SkyLink Cradle. As soon as I have a definite answer, I will start up a pre-order list.

Great. I've recently been trying to figgure out where to mount my Sky-Fi unit, and it's proving to be more challenging than I had anticipated.

I'd like to purchase the Blitzsafe for my XM direct connection. However, I notice when I go to the website to purchase it, it states that it is not compatible with Navigation. (and of course I have NAV) I thought I'd seen mentioned a few people that have NAV and use the Blitzsafe adapter. So what gives? Is it or is it not compatible?

As of right now, the XM Direct does not work with Navigation equiped BMW vehicles. We are going to have an update for Navigation equipped BMW vehicles, but I am not sure when. I suspect not till the summer at least. The XM Direct works with all of the Navigation equipped MINIs.

Marc - I see you're online. I already have an aux input for my MINI, but I also have a B6 2005 Audi A4, standard stereo (non Bose) w/ 6 disc changer. What part number do I need for the aux input?

I've asked the question before, but at the time didn't realize I had a 6 disc changer. Does that change anything? FM modulator for ipod isn't cutting it. I'm ready to buy... now.

For 2005 I believe the vehicle is fiber optic, which renders our exsisting part useless. Is yours the new body platform or the old one? Please advise.

If you have the older body type, then I have an aux. adapter for you. The part for that is AUDI/AUX DMX V.1B. If you have factory XM or Sirius, then you would have to unplug them for our part to function. Let me know if you do have XM or Sirius, I can make you a custom switcher.

Marc

Is the group discount still available? I'm waiting on my MINI to arrive, but want to be prepared to put XM in it when it does arrive. Do I just call Blitzsafe and ask for you in order to place my order?

Thanks
