F54 Clubman Door Brake Lights??

Does anyone have a mod to get a light in each Clubman rear door to function as an additional brake light? Drivers are so distracted these days and the Clubman rear door lights are so prominent that it would be natural for someone driving behind a Clubman to expect the rear door lights to come on when the Clubman is braking.

I have heard on other forums this complaint. I share this concern as well. My plan is to install a strobe like signal to the 3rd brake light.... http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...ht_pulsar.html. Hopefully, this will help. I'm all ears for any other idea.....

I've followed my wife in her Clubman several times. The bumper brake lights weren't problematic at all. If anything, the brake light in the bumper made me notice them more.

I agree with Quentin on this one. Different = more likely to be noticed. The brake lights are not a problem.

And as far as those flashing 3rd lights...There are few things that are more annoying! Getting stuck behind a car with one of those in bumper-to-bumper traffic would undoubtedly lead to a road rage incident. Granted they "only" flash 3 times with each brake application, but in stop-&-go traffic that would be 3 times every 30 seconds. It would drive anyone crazy.

Totally agree about the flashing center light, though I understand the latest versions stop doing the flash if they are activated repeatedly within a certain time frame.

I opted not to do the flashing center light -- didn't want to **** tailgaters off anymore than they already are, but would like the door lights to go on with the bumper lights, because the door lights are so prominent that many drivers will unconsciously watch those, expecting them to light up during braking. Many drivers in SoCal are truly awful.

I also agree that the bumper brake lights are easily seen, except here in SoCal we have lots of large SUV's and seriously lifted monster trucks driven very aggressively. I'm hoping those tall tailgaters can see over their hoods when I hit the binders, because if they hit me, there's so much more of their mass than mine.

Activate Rear Fog Lights feature for lighting switch:

I coded mine - you end up with five break lights instead of three. Definitely an improvement.

I used Bimmercode in expert mode with an OBDMX+ adapter.
