JCW Aftermarket Wheels

Maybe this has been discussed else where, but has anyone found aftermarket wheels that will clear the Big Brembo brakes, that look good other than other MINI wheels?

My intentions, when I finally order one of these JCW's is to go with the black wheels, use them for Winter tires, then have another set of mounted wheels for the warm/summer weather. In actuality, I don't care for any of the MINI wheels available to the JCW, could live with the black, but for Winter, they'll do.

I was thinking that the NM wheels that ECS sells would fit, not in love with them either, but a little gloss black, some polishing on the rim and they'd do. I, also thought that O.Z had some that would fit, but I'm not seeing it. I want 17" wheels, but would settle for 18"'s if I had to. I know that I'm six months away from even ordering something, but time does run fast.

On another note, beings I am the initiator of this thread, I contacted a company in the UK about carbon fibre Viper stripes to go along with the carbon fibre material that I bought for the top that I am intending on doing. He says that he can make anything, just to send him a sample of what I have and he'll find some there and make the stripes. Don't know costs, but he's reasonable on everything else he sells. Thought that some here would like to know that.

It seems wheels are something that will take a little while for a list of options to become available. TireRack will have something soon; they are normally one of the first to show a few selections.

I agree that the factory wheels are not all that great - especially the way they do a reverse of concave wheels and curve way out past the front edge of the tire.

wheels are really a personal choice so pick what you like. I like 17inch as there more options for tires and more cost effective over 18 inch.

We do sell the NM wheels if you want them. But look around and decide what you want.

JCW Aftermarket Wheels

The NM wheels will not clear the JCW brakes. I have confirmed this with NM on my quest for wheels. I decided to use H&R spacers for now so I can fit 225's with the JCW 18's.

Ok that worries me as I also called NM about a month ago and they said the 18" RSe12 wheels will clear JCW brakes on the 2015. I have since ordered and they're in my garage. I should be taking delivery of my new JCW end of this week. Fingers crossed.

If they don't clear, can anyone recommend spacers?

Definitely let us know here the results. I'm not a big fan of spacers, but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes. I like the five spoke NM wheels, but I'd have to do some paint work on them. All black is getting old, I've had that on my Motegi's on the last two MINI's. Doesn't photograph well, the black overwhelms the wheel/tire/fender lip area, even on my Pepper White Roadster. What looks great is a wheel that 'BMW 2 guys can get with the polished rim with the black center. Just my humble opinion, of course. Good luck on your new ride.

I traded emails with Jerry at NM and he was even kind enough to go to a local dealer and try a wheel on a JCW. He stated none of their wheels would fit and he was going to order a JCW brake kit so they have something to work from. They offered to custom make wheels for me. Custom was a little pricey.

I just sent Jerry @ NM a follow up email to see if anything has changed.

Appreciate it. When I had called, whoever it was I spoke with said the wheels are designed to clear the JCW calipers. Exact fitment is why I bought them. I'll also try calling them tomorrow to see what the deal is. Thanks.

No problem, I'll let you know what he says. I had planned on buying the RSe12 18's until he said they wouldn't fit. It would be great if they will work. Maybe something changed...

They appear to fit. Helix installed some lowering springs (Craven?) on this JCW and posted this. No word on whether they were direct fit or needed spacers though.

This is my JCW. The NM Eng. RSe12 18" wheels will not fit without spacers. I used 12mm spacers to bring the wheels out a bit from being tucked in under the wheels wells. I would guess a 6mm spacer is probably all that is needed to clear the brakes. It is lowered on NM Eng. RS Alpha Spring Kit.

Well that answers the question, thanks. I haven't heard back from NM. Curious what spacers you used? I bought H&R 12mm for the front and 15mm for the back. Parts 2455664 and 3055664. They have them listed here:

http://www.h-r.com/en/produktfinder.html#

I was able to order them in the U.S.

I also used 12mm in the front and 15mm in the rear. I ordered them from Outmotoring. They also have the correct size lug bolts to go with spacers and everything was available in black.

I'm going to do the same. I'm sure NM will modify their wheels in the future for the JCW, but unfortunately it looks like us early adopters must go route of spacers. I'll post some pics once I get the car and everything is installed.

Just received an email from NM. They have confirmed the need for spacers on the JCW. They said 5mm should be enough to clear the brakes.

I am a bit confused...I thought another member of the site installed a set of wheels with a +45 offset on their fJCW without spacers. Is it the design of the spokes for NM wheels which call for spacers?

Do you know what size bolts they were. Were you happy with that spacer choice? Any negatives you've noticed?

I ordered the wheel bolts from Turner Motorsport.

M14x1.25 BLACK 10-13MM SPACER M14x1.25x40mm WHEEL BOLT
M14x1.25 BLACK 13-16MM SPACER M14x1.25x43mm WHEEL BOLT

I've driven about 1000 miles with the spacers and they have been great. No negative effects.

Might be worth someone posting some dimensions of hub/caliper
Or inside edge of track spoke to disc face to help

I'm retrofitting jcw calipers, but only on the basis that they fit my new wheels

They will be arriving soon, but they need a new c/b machining out from 57.1
So will be a while before I can bring anything to the table
