How long can/should an R53 sit?

Love my R53, but it isn't being driven much. I live (and now work) in an urban environment so driving isn't an option. I went from putting 50 miles a day on the car to now barely putting on 50 a month. Am I doing any damage? Thanks.

I dont see how you can do damage if it not being driven every day?

my r53 sat for a year or two it drives great....(changing fluids before running again obviously)

as long as its getting driven sometimes its fine... less wear and tear

wear is your car being stored when not in use? a good car cover is always good. keeps your car from getting scratched even when its parked in your garage!

On the street unfortunately. Unless I want to cough up some $$$ for garage access.

I had once learned to always park a car with a full tank of gas, because it displaces water, and the full tank of gas prevents condensation from forming.

I'm not the expert, but my gut tells me this isn't true anymore, because ethanol will absorb water.

Parked my accord in April. I've started it a few times, trying to keep the battery fresh. In a month or two, I'll call to put insurance on it, drive that tank of gas out, fill it up and park it again.

i would invest in a car cover it will keep your car from looking like crap after a while.

and a little fuel stabilizer probably wouldnt hurt either if you are only doing like 50miles a month.

Fuel stabilizer is important and find a way to keep the battery charged. A car cover is also cheap compared to the damage caused by sun and acid atmosphere.

- Car cover to keep the crap off the car.
- Battery charger (trickle/intelligent charger)
- If it's parked on the street, but close to grass, just make sure to drive it a bit from time to time to prevent the disc brakes from rusting/pads seizing

My car is stored from November to March/April, but it's inside, so the only thing I have to do is taking the battery out and putting it on a ''trickle'' charger to keep the battery from draining. Honestly, I've never used fuel stabilizer and I never had any problems, but it can't be bad. Then again, when I take the car out of storage, I don't beat the **** out of it until I filled it with new fuel.
