I thought this might make for an interesting forum since Chicagoland is so big.

This morning I was on my way to work, speeding of course because I'm ALWAYS late! I was on Ridge heading north towards Evanston Hospital when a BRG/W MINI Cooper with tinted windows pulls up in the right lane. We stop at a red light and hit it at the green. My drive to work just became a race! Weeeeeeeeee! She won because I had to slow down for the numerous bumps in the road...booooo!

The license plate had an "RN" in it. I too am an RN at Evanston. If you read this, PM me please!

I saw a classic red and white Mini zipping through Evanston last weekend. I couldn't believe it and immediately thought of Charlize Theron zipping through traffic in the new Italian Job.

I've also recently realized that there are at least 7-8 MINIs within a mile radius of me including a pretty trick Pepper White/Black Cooper with some nice stripes.

Okay, there's a Pepper White and Black top Cooper in the Ravenswood/Roger's Park area that I see every Thursday on my way to class. Somewhere on Ridge. Everytime I go by, I forget to leave one of those "make MINI friends" flyers.

From Buffalo Grove myself. I drive a lot on Lake Cook to Deerfield and fly up to Lake Forest...oh an oftne Veron Hills. OK, just about everywhere in Northern Chicago Land. Every other weekend I'm down by Plainfield to pick up my daughter (she likes the Mini but won't admit it).

I have a 2003 Pepper White/Black Top. Strips, short ant, racing lights and more.

I love my Mini.

We should get together.

 

Parked around Illinois and Orleans, perhaps? Hmmmmmmm....I'll give you three guesses.

Thursday, September 25, 8:45 a.m.--Dark Silver/White MCS headed westbound on Chicago Avenue toward the Milwaukee/Ogden/Chicago intersection.

Thursday, September 25, 8:45 a.m.--Dark Silver/Black(?) with bonnet stripes MCS parked in a lot on the south side of Chicago Avenue in between Larrabee and Orleans.

 

It's funny really... a lot of people are upset that the velvet red is going away. But when it was around, no one wanted it. Like the silk Green. Now that you can no longer order it, everyone wants one. I agree, it's gorgeous... and was a tad more popular than the cosmos black.

I saw a Pepper white w/ Black last night in Geneva... oh yeah, it was my sisters :smile:

 

9.25.03 6:30pm I saw a DS/DS MCS taking up TWO MINI-SIZED PARKING SPOTS in the Old Town neighborhood around Armitage and Sheffield. It had temporary plates. Again, I was at a loss of flyers.

But dude! TWO PARKING SPACES????? Do you know how hard it is to find parking over there???? That's okay, I found one on Armitage on the next turn.

Crazy Thursday Night Sightings:

In the parking lot beneath Holmes Place/River East Theaters (Grand and Fairbanks)--Red/Red MCS with custom pinstripes and other assorted decorations including 8-***** on the doors and a cool S-logo on the hood. License plate: MINI CYY. And get this: a Chicago Yacht Club member...I know who you are now!!!

In front of the Matchbox/Silver Palm (Chicago at Ogden)--Pure Silver/Pure Silver MCS with JCW (!!!) and temporary tags (Knauz). Since it was my first JCW, I had to drop a flyer. I can't believe I don't know who it is. I haven't heard of any Chicagoans with JCWs yet. Woo hoo!!!

 

Does MINI spotting count when you are on a motorcycle?

Saw 2 EB/W Cooper S's heading northbound on 41 this morning.. One at Clavey, one at Old Orchard

 

on Waukegan and Dempster in Morton Grove I have seen one WICKED MINI! It's PS/B with chrome rims. It's got "TANK 918" plates.

I pulled allong side it one time and we exchanged waves. Bald guy if I remember

 

I think the PC term for bald is now "hairing impared"..

 

This morning around 7am I saw a DS/B heading west on Central in the northwest suburbs. I think it was in Des Plaines?????

Spotted a BRG/W MCS with white bonnet stripes on I-94 while heading back from South Haven to Chicago. It still had temporary plates with a Bill Jacobs frame around them. Two people in the car, a guy and girl in their mid-twenties (I'm guessing)...didn't get a good look at the guy (the driver), but she was super cute! (It's OK, my wife was with me and she agreed! ) We tailed them until they exited around South Bend...

 

I know this MINI has to be one of us! It was a couple days ago, around 7AM Northbound on Ridge. (On my way to work again) This MINI was a CR/W with an environmental license plate something along the lines of AutoX.

 

I see a green MINI parked on paulina just off of foster (cant remember the other side street) this belong to anyone on here?

 

Okay Someone is trying to copy Artoo. My buddy saw a IB/W with a 5 on the side! It was in and around the near north side. Anyone else see it?

 

2 minis parked together on Clark St and Foster. 4:45ish A Gold one and a silver one, both MC. I was tempted to pull mine out of the back lot and squeeze in behind the gold one, cept that would probably make him get a ticket cause id be at the meter technically

 

Saw a BRG/W this morning on Warrenville Road, but I didn't get a chance to wave. I think my favorite is a IB with white stars all over it in downtown Naperville, don't know where the owner got the graphics, but they are pretty cool.
