All aboard the Manon - June 2007

Anyone else going to the West Coast on the Manon? It's currently set to leave Southampton on 6/25/2007. Here's the information I've got so far:

Booking Number: GBSOU532079
Vessel: MANON
Voyage: ED725-MAN

Manon Arrival Dates
Gothenburg, Sweden : 18/06/2007
Bremerhaven, Germany : 22/06/2007
Zeebrugge, Belgium : 24/06/2007
Southampton, United Kingdom : 25/06/2007
Manzanillo, Panama : 06/07/2007
Port Hueneme, CA, U.S.A. : 15/07/2007
Yokohama, Japan : 29/07/2007

Updated 6/24/2007: The Manon

In case anyone is wondering, here is some information on the Manon from http://www.walleniuslines.com/the_fl...id=76&shp_id=9.

Owner: Wallenius Lines
Capacity car/trucks: 3,700/600
Length: 227.9m
Beam (kind of width): 32.3m
Draft (kind of height): 11m
Built year: 1999

WW uses ship names associated with operas, like Madame Butterfly and Figaro. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manon), Manon is a French opera.

Go to the WW site and enter the Booking Number: GBSOU532079.
A list appear with all of the VINs. At the bottom of the first page it says 10 of 561.

Manon is on the move!

Manon checked out of Zeebrugge as scheduled. She's just moving out of the Port as of 16:47 UTC...

Next stop- Southampton to pickup our 561 mini's!

Gah! Based on the list of bookings, it looks like I *just* missed this boat (VINs for MINIs on this boat stop at WMWMF3350..., and mine's WMWMF3359...). She's sitting on the boat dock, all alone, waiting for the next WW ship.

Out of curiosity, when did you guys' MINIs appear on the WW tracking page? ASK-MINI says that I'm on the dock, awaiting the ship, but WW still has no record of my VIN.

I think only the last six digits of the VIN are the sequential part. This is the way I understand how the VIN works. The "?"s are placeholders for digits.

WMW Manf. Code (BMW)
MF73 Veh. Code
?
? Check Digit
7 Model Year 200(7)
T Assm. Plant (Oxford)
?????? Prod. Sequence

Hi Pence, I wouldn't go by sequential VIN, shipping/booking depends on a lot of factors like when completed, destination, etc.

So, where are you going? I presume West Coast, since that is where Manon is headed...?

When was your production started and completed?

To answer your question, my Mini started production 6/12, completed about 6/19... Showed up in WW about 6/22. (when I could see it, but shows received at terminal 6/20, which is about right, takes 1-2 days to get from Oxford to Southampton)...

Hey howdyem, it's my pleasure! I'll update the first post with some other tracking information I found helpful.

pencechp, if ASK MINI says that you're waiting for a ship, it seems like you still have a good chance of making it on the Manon. I just missed the last ship (2 weeks ago!), and when I was trying to figure out if I made that one, I noticed that WW was updating their list the day it was sailing out of Southampton. Keep checking WW.

Manon is at the docks...

So she's at the docks... right where she should be to load our mini's!

Now there are 626 showing up in the booking, so Mini's are being added to Manon's cargo list-

If you weren't on before, you should check your VIN now!

Southampton Port shows Manon's schedule departure at 2000 6/25 local time.

Edit: VIN's are showing "loaded on Vessel" starting at 1505 local time (0705 PST)! Many Mini's loaded already!

Southampton ports

If anyone is interested in getting an idea of what the Southampton ports look like check out http://www.solentwaters.co.uk/Solent...201/page5.html. According to http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/shipping_movments.asp, the Manon is at berth 34/35, which unfortunately isn't in view of the webcam.

There are now 635 (added another straggler to list)

622 are loaded as of 1125 PST. 12 "Received at Terminal"

1 is shown as "Withdrawn" ... VIN is WMWRH33587TL95320... I wonder if it was crushed...?

Actually, I'm not sure *where* they'll take me -- either LA or Charleston, since the car's headed to Texas. I'm actually not sure when my production started (as I was in the hospital and couldn't check on the MINI's progress). I know it was "released to carrier" on 6/22, and was "received at the terminal" by 6/24. Still nothing in WW, though.
