Maxshrike0: didn't you take delivery of a laser blue one like 6 weeks ago? What happened to that car? Or did you just want one like mine so bad you had to sell it.

Hi Newt- I wish... I actually had the exact car on order before, in week 18 production... Something happened to it either during shipping (on Titus) or at the VDC... in early June I was informed they wouldn't sell it to me! Bummer.

Basically I re-ordered the exact car, but now added Park Distance Control. (why not?) They did get me a 'quick' production slot, so by June 12th the replacement had started production...

A resort near the Shenandoah Valley in VA. And technically, we could have gotten access if we wanted to pay big $$ for it. But I thought it was a good time to keep my MINI OCD in check anyway.

Of course, now it's good to be back!

On the MANON too!!!

My black Sidewalk is on it's way... HOORAY!!!

Is anyone else hitting F5 on the ship tracker site every 6 hours like I am?

Also, once it hits Port Heueneumeeue, err, Oxnard, how long before it actually gets to the dealer (South Bay MINI)?

The wait is just unbearable...

Usually once the car hits the port AND is unloaded it takes about a week for us to get the car...
Koopa based on the info that you gave it looks like your car should be here the last week of July... (pending that i have made good deductions and looked up the correct car)

Thanks Amanda... I think you know who this is since I'm probably the only one who ordered a black Sidewalk MINI convertible from you guys in the last month or so. :-)

Does show up any faster if I go to Oxnard and help unload???

That would probably make it take longer...

OK, Shenandoah, that explains it. Very nice! Yes, I hate paying for that high priced internet. That's usually when I put up the antenna and see what else is around... although in Shenandoah I might think stray signals are rare! Anyays, Shouldn't it always be free?

Welcome Koopa! Ah, I might be hitting F5 quite often... Ah, Manon is about 700 miles from Puerto Rico now... Looks like she'll shoot the gap between the Dominican and PR in about 1.5 days....

Schedule Update

It looks like we're making good time. The WW site has the Manon hitting Panama in July 6th now instead of the 7th, and arriving at the VDC on July 15th instead of the 16th!

Anyone have the link for the Panama Canal webcams?

Panama Cams

Glad to hear the Manon is ahead of schedule.

Here's the link to the PanamaCanalCams:

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

There are instructions on determining which way the camera is facing. The Manon will be southbound as it crosses from the Atlantic into the Pacific. A little weird until you look at a map.

Yes, Manon is making very good time... about 32 hours from Puerto Rico, and about 3 days plus to Manzanillo terminal. Pretty cool that WW updated and shows a day early on the canal and Hueneme!

here's the links to the canal webcam:

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Ships hit the Gatun locks first, then go under the Centennial Bridge, lastly going through the Miraflores locks... On Max-the-first I caught Titus going through the Miraflores locks live... very cool!

The Panama Canal Daily Traffice Report now has the Manon arriving at the Canal two days ahead (on the 6th) of its initial scheduled arrival (it was the 8th), so far, only a two day wait to get through. The Manon is moving right along and giving hope to the week 26 group on the Isolde that is chasing behind you by 8 days now instead of 7.

Great info... from what I can tell, the canal has normal traffic, no delays. Transit time through is about 23hrs...

right on time...

Manon is off of sailwx tracking (no more position call outs) and now has shown up on AIS radar just outside (about 20 NM) of the Cristobal Anchorages...

I'd bet she'll refuel at Manzanillo before the day is up... and start into the Canal fairly soon...

Manon... 7-7-7, 6:17 UTC

She's docked at Manzanillo. AIS radar has her in the Cristobal Anchorage, and WW now shows the Manzanillo segment "redded out". (completed)...

Next stop, Gatun Locks!

Have been watching on AISLive since about 7AM MST. She's positioning to transit. She was on the Canal Daily Traffic Report yesterday but not now. They must have another list/schedule somewhere else. Who's manning the cameras? Very cool to watch!

The current Gatun locks view shows a ship that looks like it could be the green and white of a WW ship. Maybe it's the Manon!?

Yes, Manon definitely is on the move... She's seems lined up with the Gatun Locks, only about 2.5 NM away!

I think there are different companies that handle canal bookings, I see Boyd Steamships and Barwil... Scooter, I wonder which one you saw Manon on?... (I checked Boyd Steamships last night and didn't see Manon). I couldn't get the Daily Traffic Report from the Canal itself, it seemed to want a password...

Anyways, it sure looks like Manon is lining up to traverse the canal soon!

Definitely the MANON!

Caught two screen captures of the Panama Cam and AIS Live showing the MANON at Gatun.

Will post later. Cleaning out the storage unit before it gets any hotter!

EDIT: The screen shots seem pretty small for posting. I'll email or post on request.

So how long from Gatun Locks to the Centenial Bridge? Another couple of hours maybe?
