MINIUSA - right on top of things!

In today's mail I received an envelope from MINIUSA. In it was an Encyclopedia of Open Motoring and an invitation take a test drive of the Convertible.

Kind of them....but if I want to take a test drive in a Convertible all I have to do is go out to my garage

In other news tonight I did get an email from MINIUSA advising that my Convertible Welcome Kit would arrive in 4 to 6 weeks from delivery. Been 4--we'll see eh?

Cool, I'm not interesting in buying a Convertible, but I hope MINIUSA sends me a letter with an ENCYCLOPEDIA OF OPEN MOTORING. Always nice to hear from the MINI home office.

(By the way, if you are really hardcore, you'll want BOTH versions of that booklet. One is the newer ad insert version with INS010-04 on the back, the other is the older dealer version without it. They differ a bit on each page, too, with wording and graphics.)

I received an e-mail from Miniusa with my production number inviting me to track the progress of my vehicle. I was pretty sure I already knew it's progress since I'd just parked it in the garage. Seems like the demand on Mini's marketing department may be outpacing its ability to properly track its customer base.

As you probably found out...on line tracking is pointless due to the lag.

Even considering that...I give them props for trying. They do go a long way to make their ownership experience unique and fun!

I originally got an invite to the OL when my order first went in back in Sept. and the tracking was actually pretty good up until the car was ready for shipment. (I found 1-866-ASK-MINI was even more current than the website). Somewhere after the car left Southampton, the MINI tracking service went "black". WW's website showed my car as delivered to the VDC, OL showed my car "In transit" and ASK-MINI had my car "Awaiting transport". When I talked w/ a rep at ASK-MINI they admitted that once the car leaves for the states their tracking ability is limited.

After taking delivery, I received yet another invite from Miniusa to track my car. Maybe they're building me a second one for free as a back-up just in case.

The most important thing obvously is that my car made it to me safe and sound and that she is an absolute delight to spend time with!

I have always had very good luck contacting MINIUSA for info about the MINI ads, goodies, etc. But recently I met a road block... I emailed with questions about some specific things and asked if there was anything new to send me and I got a nice reponse but the bottom line was ... no- I'm really surprised but it must be the luck of the draw as to who answers the email and maybe I'm on the "she's asked for too much stuff already" list!!! Oh well, maybe you all will have better luck than me....

Same here. But I've only asked once and after that it was inquiries about availability of things to buy.
