Questions about MOTOR SWAG Grille Badges.

Hey there,

I've been receiving tons of mail about the new badges and I thought I'd bring some of the discussion here so everyone can get the info.

Here's a recent email from a NAM member:

This is the message:

Hi! I was wondering about something...
I'd like to set up the badgeholder with the blk+silver decal, and then order other magnetic badges to place over it from time to time.
I checked the website, and it looks the only way to get a decal is to order the magnetic badge as well.
Have I missed something, or do you prefer to sell the badge and decal as a set?
Great designs btw![/FONT]

For now, until inventory is plump (about 6 weeks) we are restricting sticker/decal orders to customers who order badge. This is purely to keep the decals available for badge buyers.

I'll send out an announcement when they are available separately which won't be long.

As far as your intended use, I'm not sure how that would affect the "stickiness" of the magnet on top. Shouldn't matter but it's a consideration. It's good idea though for theft protection of your badges without leaving a blank holder out there. That's what I like about the Out Motoring badge holder that MOTOR SWAG carries. It's black without studs showing.

Which design were you thinging of?

With your permission I'd like to repost your question on NAM and answer it there as well. I'm sure others will be interested.

Cheers.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the quick reply!
Thanks for explaining how the badge & decal orders work.

I like the design work for these badges, which is why I think they’d be a potential temptation for theft out in public. That is why I was thinking of using a base decal, and using the magnetic badges for club or special days... At the event, leave it on; leave for dinner or a movie? Peel it off and show off the decal underneath!

I have a ‘06 MCS DS/LS slicktop with reflective black stripes— I’ve attached a flash pic for reference : )
I can see the metallic sliver MOD/RAF roundel as a decal, and I like the Union Jack Skull or the Checkered Silver design as magnetic badges.

And by all means, please feel free to repost... That makes a lot of sense by me.

Regards,
Eugene

Sticking a decal on the holder is a good idea. I was thinking about putting my Motoring Underground decal there, but I think the studs (OEM) would still show.

Feed Back on Lil' Jack?

This is Jack,

He's gone through many permutations for a few years as have his bros and sisses. But he's never made it on to a product.

When the Nissan Fast character came out I got a little bummed, but then I figured they could be on Celebrity Wrestling and duke it out.

Anyway, Jack wants to be on a badge and shirt for kids. Jack may get some wings. He's had different roof colors from time to time, but they always look like a yarmulke.

Like him?

Nissan? What are you smoking?

Last i checked...nissan never made a small hatchback called the rabbit back in the day.....so i doubt they would have a reason to bring up the new fast character

fast>jack

VW designed the fast based on the old rabbit logo found on the back of their small hatch....the rabbit.

So obsessed that you thought nissan had a rabbit mascot?

Fast doesn't look anything like a rabbit

Thanks...

You can't search back that far, I don't think...but in 02 or 03 I put up a first generation image of Jack that had the swooping rear spoiler head motif.
I'll try to find it but it's on another hard drive.

I like mascots...a lot.

The process: Step 1

LIke a screen printer in a box, the Printer lays down 1 color at a time. This is mettallic silver going down on white vinyl. Then back through with perfect regisitration for the next color. This process allows crisp lines and vibrant color!

Sorry for the bad photo...darn cell phone cams!

Next up , Step 2.

I really like the effort Motorswag is putting into grille badges. I'm interested in getting my design put on a magnetic badge. I'm most interested in having one to put on my MINI, but may buy many more to give away. I'm the producer of the Virginia Blues & Jazz Festival so the design will use those words and some sort of graphic.

I saw mention of the possibility of a one off in another thread. How does it all work? What's the cost, minimum quantities, etc?

Thanks.

Hi
It works like this:

You need your art in minimum 300DPI eps or Illustrator format, however a vector image is preferred for sharpest printing.

If you don't have either of these, you'll need to email me for an estimate to create that kind of file.

Minimum order is $25 which gets you 1 badge and 2 stickers/decals. More Copies of the same design within the same order are at regular grille badge/Sticker prices.

We do this once a month at the end of the month and all customs run in the same batch. Your art should be in and approved by the end of the 3rd week of the month. For June you would need your art in by 6/23

Did I miss anything?

That sounds great. Is this for full color? Or is there a limit to the number of colors?
