Nice segway from the oil slick still being created by the USS Arizona to the Nature Preserve. Great views from your hotel room too!

Nice pics – I’m from there and love Oahu – raised in Kailua.
I feel like a tourist if I run around with a camera so I never take pics when I’m in Hawaii, the next time I’m bringing a camera.
What meter did you use, was the camera set to auto – for that matter what camera

Any plans to return to Hawaii someday?
Looks like you had some decent clear Fall-Winter weather.
Sometimes we get lots of clouds which are great for pictures and sunsets.
Today from 530am we have 27,000 runners/walkers doing the 33th annual Honolulu Marathon. It passes right in front of your hotel site and along Kapiolani park.
If you are back in Hawaii sometime contact the HawaiiMINImotoring club.
Other sites of interest in addition to those you posted:
Tantalus Lookout- top of Roundtop Drive- great views of Honolulu
Punchbowl Cemetry of the Pacific- overlooks Downtown Honolulu
Top of Waimanalo/above sea Life park with the hang gliders
Pali Lookout- views of Kailua Kaneohe and east shoreline
Matsumoto's shaved Ice store- Haleiwa North shore Oahu
Waikiki Aquarium- a great small aquarium
Northshore in the winter months with big waves and surf event
Each and every neighbor island- they are all different with many sites
