I just downloaded DXO Optic Pro trial version, WOW!!! This software auto correct my lens and almost everything else to make the pictures so pleasing to my eyes. I would highly recommend you give it a try. I do not have any affiliation to this company, just would like to share my great experience. Oh, while you at it try Lightroom. Cheers

Maybe you just need some proxy votes to get the ball rolling

Seriously though, it's really a good image

you never can tell what people will vote for the contest usually ends up being a horse race between the early leaders

I tried thw Optic Pro on recomendation from jimz64 but wasn't happy at all with thte results it was giving me, and was much more pleased with taking some more time and doing photoshop witht the same images. Not even sure if I saved anything I tried to use in DXOs trial.

Yeah I know, and many times it boils down to a gimicy trick, that usually has little to do witht he topic; I'm glad that hasn't happened this month though.

Sorry, just saw it. Looks cool

I think you've reached the point you need to worry about the background that are distracting. That yellow car is very annoying ... and cropping. The black and pepper cars alone would have made a better subject.

Time for a new lens Jump to a 400 or 500, get back and throw that background totally out of focus or just photochop it out!

Looking good Motor

Dealer parking lot @ 28-50 and bascially sitting on the last row of Bimmers before I was in the street, no chance to really move either. because the majoirty of the background "fit" it personally didn't bother me too much.

I need to go out and get some more motion shots soon.

Drew, I really like the light in that last pic. The warm cast really adds a relaxful mood to your photo.

umm low ISO keys under the lens camer body on ground (can't you tell that money spent on tripods was worth it? ) 30" and make sure the flash lightis only on whenyou're bythe camera. Beea while since I did that kind of experimentation, not many place round here dark enough to get at.

Non-MINI but this is about expanding photo skills so here goes...
Overcast during the golden hour

That shot really accentuates the "hood stripes."

Thanks for the setup details on the flashlight photo. The train looks real good and I like what you did in post. The pole however is distracting and the background clutter would look much better with more blur.

Well, you already know my opinion of HDR and this photo isn't helping. Vaseline smeared on skylight filter softness. The subject is?
I've got to stop reading the harsh critiques on APN. Sorry I don't have more photos to contribute so you can return the critical review favor; nothing but baby photos lately.

Very nice. Would like to see a bit more detail below the bonnet though. Really like the toning you applied. Was HDR really necessary for this photo?

The original had the detail there because ofthe HDR but I got annoyed with it cause I felt it destracted and chose to leave it where youcould just see the airdam. I'll have some non-MINI automotive shots in short order (well they're on the camera and we all know how that goes)
