Seeking advice, tips, Techniques and tricks
I always shoot color in camera (no chioce and even if I had it I prefer to do it PP) Top two are selectively colored just cause I hadn't done any in a while and wanted the practice.
I really dig the way the rear quarter panel creates this reflective sweeping motion near the fenderwells. You captured it very well in this photo.
Also digging the contrast of the rich red tail lamp on the unsaturated Black Pearl.
Well done especially as the cold weather has made it more of a challenge for you and your patientice to find the creative composition.

)I like the tail lamp shot, I think the way the polarizer makes the lines in the lamp while a little bit tacky is also neat effect.
Cold has cut down my outdoor shooting times, but I've been using the indoor time as a chance to try some new techniques imporve PP skills and re-learnt he rules and look at other types of photos to kind of retrain my eye to see thing a little differently agian. I was also at the auto show shooting car in general to get back tot he basics hoping to have some of the better ones form my few days there edited and reay soon.

Ok this is a different photo than the one posted taken with a different les and given a much finer grooming in Photoshop.
Also I'd appreciate some C&C with these, shows generally suck as far as conditions go but I did some more complex stuff in PP and they all got a certain level of modification.

BUT, the biggest critique I got on the Car show is ....
WTH are the models in bikinis?????????
From my personal favorite photo mag Outdoor Photographer, they have a great article on B&W conversion in the March issue.
I like what you did with the auto show photos.
OK .... 50 degrees today so the car cover came off.
The car is DIRTY so no snide remarks about dirt
All Macro shots, Even at F16, terrible Depth of Field. Well, just learning with this lens. No photochop stuff except crop and resize.
Maybe I'll get to wash the car this weekend ... maybe. Macro lens shows EVERY piece of dirt

I like what you did with the auto show photos.
The soft focus worked well to reduce the multitude of strong spotlights on the cars.
You're getting better with the masking.
I did a little straight out painting but no masking with these

What instrument panel was that with the 8500 rpm redline?
yeah finally reached my breaking point and re-registered with a different (familiar to y'all) user name.My foavorite of those is the caliper. SOmething I think you may appreciate trying is shut off the flash pull out the tripod and even consider rolling into the sun (evening is ideal for whole car shots but with such macros even midday could get some good results) most sufer from the flash kicking up the reflective surfaces and leaving you with a lot over and a lot under exposed.
But I'm a no-flash person by nature too.
And heres a little thing I threw together for kicks in photoshop today.

So much to do ... so little time

Yeah, the caliper is the best.

Was that the Detroit auto show?
Any idea how much the yellow PCCBs cost? Guess. Scroll down ...
$8K as an option. $4K/wheel to replace the rotor and pad and NOT covered under warranty
Needless to say they are far and few between
My little dose of LITHIUM

One of the alternatives is using the Channel Mixer referenced above.
